The role would suit any experienced nurse or paramedic with abackground in acute/emergency/critical care who has an interest in teaching Main duties of the job Toensure that patients with clinical deterioration have their needs prioritisedwith appropriate assessment, intervention and on-going management.
To ensure that patients at risk are reviewedregularly and appropriate intervention initiated in a timely manner.The post holder will assistwith the delivery of education through enhancing staff confidence, competenceand experience of ward staff through sharing of skills.The service will utilisephysiological track and trigger tools to identify patients whose condition isdeteriorating via EPR.They will assist/supportaudit projects and update guidelines/policies within the Acute InterventionNurse remitAssist / Support ward staffwith care of the dying patients, complex DNACPR decisions and ensure effectivecommunication with the patient and their families.To assist the anaestheticteam to stabilise critically ill patients throughout the hospital.To be an active member ofemergency response teams within the hospital, taking a lead role in the MedicalEmergency Team.Capable of acting as teamleader in the Cardiac Arrest Team when required.Active member of thePaediatric Emergency Team.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Degree in a relevant subject or significant progress towards, Comprehensive Knowledge in relation to the Acutely unwell and Deteriorating Patient, Evidence of Continuing professional development.
Desirable Physical Assessment Skills.
Nurse Prescriber Experience Essential Background in acute care area ED, AMU,ITU Desirable Experience in palliative care.
Statutory Registration Essential Registered Nurse Special Skills & Knowledge Essential ILS provider.
Experience of teaching junior colleagues in the clinical environment Desirable ALS and / or EPLS provider.
ALS or EPLS instructor or instructor candidate.
Teaching qualification (998 or C&G) or relevant teaching experience.
Ability to plan and prioritise workload Able to make comprehensive patient assessment.
Ability to make complex decisions.
