Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Receptionist/Administrator to join our friendly, innovative and forward-thinking team based at Milton Surgery, just outside Cambridge.
We are looking for a part time member of staff, to work approximately 20 hours per week.
Main duties of the job The post holder will provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others.
To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting the Practice and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional basis.
To ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled to the mutual satisfaction of the partners and patientsFor the right candidate there is also the opportunity to get involved the secretarial or dispensary functions at the surgery.
Full training would be provided.
About us Milton Surgery is a small friendly practice on the outskirts of Cambridge.We have 3 GP partners, 1 salaried GP, A strong nursing team comprising of a lead nurse, 1 nursing associate, a health care assistant and a phlebotomist.The surgery is part of the Cambridge Northern Villages Primary Care Network.We offer great team working and friendship, competitive rates of pay and access to the NHS pension scheme.
Job description Job responsibilities This person must be capable of performing accurately any function requested of them to assist the practice to run efficiently within the scope of their jobPurpose of job/responsibility for:To be part of a multitasking reception/administration team dealing with patients either by phone, email or at the reception desk.
Scan all appropriate mail into our clinical system, Systmone.Checking and action of Surgery practice notesWord processing tasks including minutes, reports, posters, protocols etc.Recording incoming monies into the appropriate register.Assisting with call and recall of chronic diseases and cancer screeningPhotocopying and sending of medical notes as requested.To maintain the smooth running of work flow within the surgery.To organise the smooth management of private work and maintain payment register.Typing letters and organising patient hospital appointments.Dealing with patient queries and problems.To ensure that all correspondence and reports are dealt with promptly, accurately and efficientlyFranking mail, ordering stationery and posting of mail.Liaise with patients, hospitals, Social Services, Health Authority and other outside agencies.The above list is not exhaustive Person Specification Qualifications Essential Experience working in a public facing environment.
Computer literate Desirable Experience in an administrative role within the NHS Flexible with cover for holidays and sickness when required.
