Main duties of the job You will be qualified in at least one Epic application (training provided) and will work within the Patient Administration System (PAS) eHospital team.You will support and manage a team of application analysts, ensuring that their work conforms to the design integrity for your module.
You will provide specialist advice on the capabilities and optimisation potential of the Epic system.
You will be an expert in your application areas and troubleshoot problems and address questions regarding the applications.You will communicate regularly with outpatient booking and admission coordinators, service managers and other relevant staff, listening to and analysing their needs.You will modify the Epic system using configuration tools to tailor the system to ensure it works effectively for our patients and staff.You will help to test the system thoroughly to ensure that it is safe, usable, secure and robust.You will provide support to end-users through regular meetings as well as help desk, and on call activities as required.
You will also work alongside the training department to ensure that training materials and curricula are kept in line with the system.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential General education to degree level, equivalent professional qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
Desirable A degree, preferably in IT, Health Informatics, or a related field.
PRINCE/MSP or other project management qualification.
Epic certified in at least one application.
Experience Essential Experience of collaborating with clinical staff, medical consultants, and other senior managers.
Design and delivery of workflows/processes in a clinical environment.
Previous experience working within a technology role in a healthcare setting, particularly in system configuration and digital transformation.
Experience of delivering complex technical projects to tight deadlines.
Experience of delivery of benefits from the implementation of technology / services.
Desirable Experience of managing clinical and/or operational services within the NHS.
Experience of working with the Epic EPR system.
Knowledge Essential Expert understanding of clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes in a hospital setting.
Desirable Understanding of NHS operational and/or clinical management.
Understanding of Information Governance.
Skills Essential Advanced IT skills, with a focus on EPR system configuration, optimisation, and aligning clinical and administrative needs.
Strong analytical and business process skills to assess, optimise, and translate complex clinical workflows into effective system configurations.
Ability to present and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including clinicians and operational managers.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, using initiative to drive system improvements.
Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasive skills when engaging with senior staff and stakeholders.
Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and multiple tasks, maintaining composure under pressure.
Ability to focus on complex data and process analysis for extended periods, even in high-pressure environments.

Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies including process improvement.
