We're seeking a Variant Configuration Lead to join our rapidly growing team.
A part of the Product Data Management (PDM) team, this role will touch several topics including Part Naming/Numbering, Bill of Material (BOM) structuring and management, Engineering Change Management (ECM), etc.
Configuration is a cornerstone of PDM, enabling downstream teams to consume the Engineering BOM in context of a solved vehicle or sub-system, facilitating activities such as CAE, Cost control and procurement.
This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity from our offices near Leamington Spa.

What you'll do In this role, you will be working closely with Engineering teams, Product and Marketing teams, and IT functions.
You will also be required to build relationships with all areas of the business to support the collection and validation of requirements.

Working with the Company's Design, Engineering and IT functions to ensure the configuration data, models and in-system application is valid and current · Lead and expand the Configuration management team Create a Change Management business process from beginning to end for configuration data and processes – inclusive of upstream data ingress Take the responsibility of the configuration process implementation, training to the wider group, and workflows.
· Create supporting documentation for internal and external partners Liaise with system owners, ensuring valid data lineage for configuration across PLM (3DX), CLM, ERP, etc.
Validate with the wider business stakeholders regularly to see if the process flow is working well without any disruptions.
Monitor system efficiency and propose changes to improve working functionality.
· Support team upskilling and awareness of configuration best practices · Carry out any other duties that may be requested of you.
Who you are Variant Configuration experience in the relevant automotive industry Solid understanding of Configuration principles, standards, limitations and process management.
Knowledge of 3D Experience (PLM) systems.
· Proven success in developing and implementing fit-for-purpose Variant Configuration practices in system · Experience of coordinating requirements across internal teams in context of programme timelines Relevant experience in BoM Management and document management.
A good working knowledge of whole vehicle design is advantageous.
A good working knowledge of Product Definition processes (Master Feature List, Color/Material/Finish CMF, etc.)
