The contract location of this role is Ailsa Hospital, however, we have adopted a distributed working approach to how we work dependent on service need.What you will do:Utilising your skills and experience in the field of strategic and service planning, you will support the work of the Planning Manager and other senior officers within the Planning Team to ensure that the organisation has the necessary data intelligence and planning tools to maximise the impact of safe, effective and person centred care.You will support the Planning Manager and Senior Planning Officer to take forward service delivery changes as a result of national, regional and local directions.
Responding to highly complex information enquiries from a range of stakeholders relating to planning projects and reports, including SLA enquiries from within NHS Ayrshire and Arran and externally from other Health Boards, Hospice and private healthcare providers.Implementing effective integrated planning processes to support and advise key stakeholders in taking forward transformation of services.
Enhancing stakeholders understanding of planning tools, approaches and processes to realise organisational benefits.Providing analytical support and intelligence to support planning within the Acute Directorate, to the Corporate Directorates and at the interface with the Health and Social Care Partnerships.For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job description.Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:Undergraduate degree or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrable knowledge of Service Level Agreements, and their complexities.Understanding and experience in the practical application of software packages such as Business Objects, NSS Discovery and Pentana Performance or similar systems, with proficiency gained through formal training processes or extensive personal experience.Experience of project management demonstrated through personal experience.Ability to demonstrate and communicate a practical and theoretical understanding of planning tools and techniques and an understanding of the use of financial and activity data to inform plans.Good working knowledge and understanding of the statutory framework and guidance for the NHS, and the Integration of Health and Social Care and the implications of these within a planning frameworkGood awareness of the policy framework for health and social care delivery and its interface with planning partners, particularly IJBs/Health and Social Care Partnerships.Recent experience of working in the NHS, other public sector or relevant organisations within a relevant role associated with analysis of data for planning.Successful track record in developing structures and systems to support the attainment of organisational goals through data intelligence and the provision of data visualisation tools to meet the performance and planning needs of the organisation.Highly proficient in the use of information systems and data analysis with excellent numeracy and statistical skills.Ability and demonstrable experience in the drafting and presentation of papers, reports and related correspondence for the NHS Board, associated Governance groups, Directors and senior managers.A pragmatic and flexible approach to problem solving.Developed awareness of the political sensitivity of information and the mental agility, to work through issues and take cognisance of the impact changes to services may have.Highly developed interpersonal and communication and influencing skills (both written and oral) and an ability to establish productive working relationships.For further information on the requirements for the role please click the link below to view the person specification.Hours: 37 per week
