In this exciting position, you will be at the forefront of developing the next generation of JLR vehicles, with your expertise playing a crucial role in orchestrating the design and implementation of network protocols that underpin our advanced vehicle systems.
As a Lead Networks Protocol Engineer, you will lead the development and deployment of communication, data link, and physical layer requirements for new and established network technologies and protocols.
You will collaborate within an agile squad dedicated to assessing and advancing vehicle network technologies utilised throughout the JLR digital platform.
Your responsibilities will also include authoring and owning the requirements and test cases for our platform architecture and individual vehicle architectures from the early stages, ensuring that robust network capabilities are delivered in partnership with component teams.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities You are responsible for the design, validation, and maintenance of the Network standards and associated test cases for JLR that will be used in the component specifications used to source all networked component You will need to work within cross-functional teams to identify, document, and validate the constraints and capability of each new network technology and effectively communicate these throughout the business to shape the definition of the next digital platform You are responsible for leading the network qualification activities for new technologies across the V, including coordination of commercial activities with the procurement team Your tasks include supporting component and supplier teams in the application of the requirements and queries that arise from the completion of unit-level test cases as well as the central integration team's system-level testing WHAT YOU'LL NEED Significant experience in the application of Automotive Ethernet Networks Significant experience in the design of Automotive Network Interfaces at both hardware & software level including an awareness of Automotive Network Technology & Semiconductors products and subsequent requirements desirable Understanding of Industry standards associated with Vehicle Network Interface design Experience in the development and validation of electronic control units for automotive applications simulation, and methods used to qualify component designs and network technologies Ability to work across distributed teams as well as independently with a motivated and structured way of working with a desire to understand and introduce new technology Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work.
