Job summary We are recruiting for a Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner for our North Somerset Mental Health Support Team.
This is a full time position that carries a portfolio of both Primary and Secondary Schools that the post holder will be based in for most of their working week.

Main duties of the job The post-holder will deliver, under regular supervision, high-quality; outcome-informed, focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.This will include one-one work, group work, whole class, or larger assemblies.The post holder will have the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to ensure that children and young people will have access to timely, high quality, evidence based mental health support.

Job description Job responsibilities This post is for a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP) who has completed the Child and Young Persons (CYP) Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) course.
The EMHP will have skills in assessment and treatment in delivering low intensity evidence-based interventions with CYP presenting with anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.
The EMHP will also deliver whole school approaches with a strong emphasis on participation with young people, their families and carers.This vacancy sits within our Bristol Team.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1yr 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' course.
Desirable A further relevant degree qualification Experience Essential Experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties Desirable Knowledge of the functional operation of specialist CAMHS teams Skills Essential Ability to make an assessment of risk and to record and communicate it appropriately
