The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is looking for a Commis Chef to join our Culinary team.

About Us: The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is undergoing an exciting refurbishment in 2024, bringing modern comfort and style to the city centre.
Located near premier attractions like OVO Hydro, Hampden Park, and the University of Glasgow, our hotel offers a vibrant and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.

As a Commis Chef you will be responsible for: Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers Work as part of a team to prepare food for our restaurant, bar/lounge, room service and banqueting operations Report maintenance issues immediately to appropriate personnel (i.e., management or maintenance).
Who We Are Looking For: We seek an enthusiastic, motivated individual with experience in a similar role within the hospitality or travel and tourism industry.
The ideal candidate is a team player, fast learner, adaptable, and possesses exceptional attention to detail, interpersonal, and communication skills.
You should be: Proactive and reliable Responsible and highly motivated Skilled in effective communication with a positive outlook Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and multi-tasking ability Previous experience in a similar hospitality setting preferred.
Professional Cookery Qualification preferred.
