As our C&S team continues to grow, remaining an integral part of our broader team, we are seeking an enthusiastic Principal Engineer to support and direct large projects, or several smaller ones, within the Power sector as part of this expanding division.
The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in project delivery and will be eager to guide graduate engineers and technicians in technical design and project management.
A demonstrated ability to manage project delivery within quality, budget, and schedule constraints is crucial, and experience in the power sector is greatly valued.
Key ObjectivesEnsure project teams manage and deliver single- and/or multi-disciplinary projects to cost, schedule and quality criteriaEnsure project teams have appropriate skills and resources in placeDirect aspects of infrastructure design work on a range of project sizesEnsure compliance with business quality and management systemsContribute to the wider development of the C&S (Power team) department capabilitiesDevelop and mentor junior staffRequirementsHNC/ HND Civil Engineering and/or recognised Civil Engineering DegreeChartered Civil/ Structural Engineer CEng MICE/ MIStructEProfessional membership with an appropriate body (ICE, APM, CIHT, IHE etc.)Experience in managing project deliveryExperienced in directing project teamsTechnically proficient in Infrastructure design and co-ordinationExceptional communication skills both written and oralFull UK Driving LicenceWhy this role?This is an opportunity to showcase your multitasking skills and capacity to oversee multiple initiatives, supported by a cohesive and encouraging team.An excellent opportunity to witness a project's full lifecycle, from the initial design phase to the construction stage, engaging in every aspect from start to finish, seeing your designs come to life.The opportunity to expand on your management skills through supervising and motivating a team, with the guidance of the Disciplines leadership.You will be joining a dynamic and experienced team of professionals, diving into a bustling stream of ongoing and upcoming projects – you won't get boredAbout BakerHicks We've been innovating in design, engineering and project delivery since 1957 and operate from 14 locations for a truly European reach.
