This is a developmental role and is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse to train and develop skills within Practice Nursing.The Treatment Room Nurse role is an introductory role for Registered Nurses interested in working in General Practice and Primary Care.
The Treatment Room Nurse will undertake clinical consultations and deliver care adhering to Patient Specific Directions and Patient Group Directions and be responsible for the delivery of safe, high quality primary care nursing services.We are a dual site Practice, and the successful candidate will be expected to work across both Tavyside and Lifton.This is a permanent position for 26 hours per week available Monday - Friday.The successful candidate will be expected to work 1 Saturday morning per month (0800 -1200) at an enhanced rate of pay.A basic knowledge of IT systems is essential.
Full training will be given for our internal system, EMIS Main duties of the job Person SpecificationEssential GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council) Experience of working autonomously Experience of infection prevention and control measuresDesirable Experience of chronic disease management Experience of working in a primary care environment Experience of working as a practice nurse or community nurse Experience of managing elderly and housebound patients Experience of quality initiatives, , benchmarkingPersonal QualitiesEssential Polite and confident Flexible and co-operative High levels of integrity and loyalty Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations Effectively able to communicate and understand the needs of the patient Commitment to ongoing professional development Punctual and committed to supporting the team effortDesirable Motivated, forward thinker Problem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as required Ability to work under pressure/in stressful situations Effectively utilise resources
