Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Dietetic team at Velindre Cancer Centre for a Professional Lead for Nutrition and Dietetics.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our innovative, patient centred and friendly team, within the Integrated Care Directorate at Velindre Cancer Centre.
This post is full time - however part time working hours would be considered.
Flexible working requests are supported within this role.

The post holder will take the lead on the clinical delivery and day to day leadership of the Dietetic services at Velindre Cancer Centre.
Clinically, you will oversee the delivery of Dietetic services to Oncology patients accessing services at Velindre Cancer Centre.
This will include the management of treatment related side effects, along with, patients who require complex dietetic input to optimize their nutritional status through oral, enteral, and parenteral feeding.
You will work closely and build relationships with a range of multi-disciplinary colleagues, including nursing, medical and other AHP colleagues.
As such, it is a fantastic stepping-stone for future career opportunities.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will provide day to day leadership to the Dietetic team, including developing the clinical skills and professional practice of the dietetic team, and delivering MDT education in nutrition and cancer.
They will be supported by the Therapies Operational Lead and the Therapies Management team, with peer support provided by the other departmental therapy clinical leads.
They will be required to provide clinical service delivery and therefore experience of working as a Dietitian in adult dietetic services at a senior level, including experience of working with cancer care and nutrition support practices is a requirement for this role.
The successful candidate will need to be able to manage a complex clinical caseload, have excellent time management and prioritisation skills along with audit and research skills.
We are seeking a motivated and organised individual who is an adaptive team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
They will also be required to demonstrate leadership skills and experience.
Welsh speaking skills are desirable for this post, Welsh & English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Essential BSc.
Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent.
HCPC registration Management or leadership qualification or evidence of management development Desirable Masters Membership of specialist interest groups Attendance at relevant accredited courses Experience Essential Experience in operational management/ leadership Experience of delivering clinical nutrition in a range of complex settings and within Oncology setting.
Experience of working as a senior member of a clinical team to deliver patient and organisational objectives.
