The Health Economics Modelling Team The Health Economics Modelling team are experts in creating intuitive scientifically robust and clinically appropriate models.
They are the team clients come to when they require specialist modelling expertise.
They excel across all model types, and are recognised experts In creating new models which translate complex problems clearly and transparently.
The Role As a Principal Health Economist, you will provide leadership, guidance, and oversight in shaping of projects within the Health Economics team, including the design and development of budget impact and cost-effectiveness models, model adaptations, data input sourcing, model protocols and technical report development.
Working with teams across the business, the Principal Health Economist contributes initiatives to improve ways of working and business development.
The work is structured on a project-by-project basis, and you will be expected to work on multiple projects simultaneously in different disease areas focused on complex or strategically important projects.
You will work in project teams alongside less experienced colleagues and will provide one-to-one training in the technical aspects of the role, including project management and effective client communication.
You will take responsibility for the quality and delivery of written deliverables and for efficient, high quality project execution on both health economic and cross-collaborative projects.
Delivering project work requires close collaboration with clients, and you will be expected to participate and lead virtual and face-to-face meetings with external stakeholders where you will be expected to contribute ideas and solutions resulting in successful project delivery To be considered for the role of Principal Health Economist you require the following: Education: A Bachelors degree of above in economics, mathematics, engineering, science or other relevant discipline.
Experience: Experience at a senior level of leading and technically contributing to the development of models (Economic, Statistical, Dynamic, simulation etc) Relevant project management experience Demonstrable experience in business development Growing experience in building client partnerships Line management and leadership experience Skills: Critical thinking Strategic planning Empathetic leadership skills Effective delegation Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills Strong organisational capabilities Excellent command of the English Language Proficient in Excel/VBA.
Experience with other languages (e.g.
R) Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint) Commercial awareness Business planning Personal attributes Leadership- inspires and motivates others and uses personal experience and expertise to support and develop the team Solutions orientated – can see the bigger picture as well as focus on the details, has a flexible approach to identify and champion the solution that best meets the needs of clients/colleagues Data driven - forward thinking technologist with a strong understanding of how data/technology drive productivity Collaborative and credible – helps others to design and execute projects and overcome challenges based on own experience and expertise Inquisitive and innovative – is willing to learn and has a drive to constantly improve Takes ownership – delivers on commitments, flags any issues that may jeopardise delivery in a timely manner, can manage frequent and sometimes complex ups and downs, while being open and transparent Strong communicator – knowing the importance of being the most understood person in the room, tailors the communication of complex methods, concepts and results to various stakeholder audiences Reporting The Principal Health Economist reports to the Director, Health Economics The Principal Health Economist has line management responsibility for 2-6 Health Economists and Senior Health Economists.
