Job Title: Procurement Officer (Temporary) Location: Antrim Civic Centre Salary: £20.98/hour (PO1, SCP 31) Hours: Full-time, 37 hours/week (Mon-Fri, 9:00am 5:00pm) Contract: Temporary (up to 3 months) Department: Finance and Governance Responsible to: Procurement Manager Main Purpose: The Procurement Officer will contribute to the Councils procurement objectives, ensuring efficient and compliant procurement processes, offering advice, and managing contracts.
Key Responsibilities: Manage tendering and quotation processes, including evaluation and recommendations.
Provide procurement guidance to Council staff.
Assist in preparing tender documents and specifications.
Maintain a register of goods, works, and services contracts.
Liaise with external bodies on collaborative purchasing.
Monitor Council spending for procurement opportunities.
Support contract management to ensure compliance and value for money.
Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures.
Deputise for the Procurement Manager when needed.
Requirements: At least 3 years of relevant procurement experience.
Working towards or willing to work towards a CIPS qualification.
Strong planning, organization, and administrative skills.
Knowledge of procurement best practices.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Core Competencies: Customer focus, service excellence, teamwork, communication, leadership, and problem-solving.
