Job summary Bolton Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) Service has a vacancy for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to work alongside our established Multi disciplinary team.
The ASC team provides post-diagnostic support to people with Autism Spectrum Conditions - ASC (without Learning Disabilities).The ASC service is part of the Bolton Directorate which provides integrated mental health and social care services, both in the community and in inpatient settings.The successful person will be required to undertake a range of activities to deliver the care pathways for the client group.
This will include report writing, short-term case management, a period of 1:1 interventions and delivery of our group programme.
There are opportunities to gain a broad range of experience and to develop clinical and teaching skills.As the job involves working with service users in a specialist context, essential requirements for the post include: experience of working with Adults with ASC, a relevant professional qualification Nursing, Social Work, or Speech and Language therapy; a high level of communication skills; capacity to work productively in a demanding environment and a willingness to undergo further appropriate training.Desirable qualities include, experience of working with complex clients, experience of planning and delivering therapeutic group work and a high standard of report writing.
Main duties of the job Under the line management and clinical leadership from within Bolton Autism Spectrum Conditions service, the post holder will provide post-diagnostic interventions to service users.
They will co-ordinate timely and appropriate interventions using the skills of their core profession for a caseload of service users.
Interventions will be carried out in line with relevant clinical pathways as outlined within the service's operational procedure.
This includes respecting the individuality, values, culture and religious diversity of clients and colleagues and thus contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.

Demonstrate ability to use initiative to deal with situations which may occur.
Desirable Experience of supervising other staff Skills and Abilities Essential Demonstrate up to date clinical & professional practice and expertise via the delivery of appropriate interventions.
Demonstrate the ability to identify the mental and physical health needs and social care needs of service users in order to provide support and signposting to relevant services.
Demonstrate the ability to risk assess service users in order to plan, deliver and evaluate care and treatment based on the outcome of assessments using Trust and Local policies and procedures in relation to the Care Programme Approach (CPA).
Desirable To have undertaken work within a community based mental health team (CMHT) or on an inpatient MH ward.
Other Essential There is a frequent requirement to travel mainly within the Bolton area in order to undertake your main duties and an occasional requirement to travel across the wide footprint of the Trust to attend meetings and events relevant to the role.
