System & Data Integration Specialist NHS contract Band 7, £208 per day Inside IR35 Location can be 100% remote (UK based) The Integration Specialist will provide an efficient and effective integration service to the Trust, in support of the Trust's business requirements and collaborate with other Trusts and other partners to support ICS and NHS-Wide initiatives.
They will provide both system and data integration expertise, in particular HL7, and support and maintain the Trust's integration engine software.
The Integration Specialist will be required to work with our integration partners, other Trusts and suppliers to develop, implement, maintain and support complex interfaces between system applications in clinical and support departments throughout the Trust, reducing clinical risk by improving the consistency of information in the Trust's systems.
The Integration Specialist will undertake complex requirements analysis, design, implementation and testing of new interfaces and the improvement and troubleshooting existing interfaces.
You will be responsible for ensuring that interfaces are completed within the timescales or milestones agreed ensuring patient care, safety and other service improvements are achieved.
This post will also be required to help support, maintain, and develop data integrations, used by the Information Services and Digital Health Teams.
This post will be required to provide out of hours support as part of the Digital Services Department out of hours on-call service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Communication and relationship skills The post holder will be expected to have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Have the ability to receive and interrogate complex data, sensitive or contentious information in order to develop, maintainand remediate interfaces.
Ability to develop, manage and sustain good working relationships with all levels of staff throughout the organisation, other Trusts, ICS and Suppliers They will have the ability of communicating complex issues to customers/suppliers/other Trusts, in such a way that is easily understood.
Liaise with all Digital Services teams to ensure the effective implementation and day to day running of the interfaces across the Trust's network and applications, and integration with other Trusts and raise issues with Integration partners, suppliers accordingly to resolve issues.
Providing appropriate and timely communication and engagement with key stakeholders within the Trust and externally, to ensure they are fully informed of activity that could impact upon them.
Knowledge, training and experience The post holder will have the knowledge, training and experience to undertake the follow tasks: Monitor, manage and support the Trust's integration engine software and interfaces between systems.
This may include installation, patching, upgrading, and issue resolution.
Develop new interfaces in partnership with suppliers and other NHS organisations, using appropriate tools and methods.
These include the Trusts InterSystems Integration Engine HL7 messaging, SQL, PL/SQL, ODBC calls, XML / XSLT, Windows Batch Files, Web Services, Java, TCL, .NET, DICOM.
Support all interfaces whether via the integration engine or not.
This will include some monitoring of interfaces during normal working hours, the diagnosis of problems and the application of modifications where required.
This will involve close liaison with both the suppliers of third-party systems and Trust Integration Engine product support.
To undertake detailed technical investigations and analysis of complex data structures, in response to issues raised by the other system owners.
To provide a timely resolution to issues where technical changes to interfaces are indicated.
Assist with database and data integration administration, and support, liaising with eternal company providing data management and DBA support to the Trust.
Develop and maintain a good understanding of the data, complex data structures and data relationships used within the Trust's databases and applications and map such knowledge were required by the Trust.
Develop skills in data standards, both national and local, in order to manage the mapping functions of interfaces.
Fully document interfaces using standard templates.
This will include keeping existing documentation up to date as well as writing documentation for new interfaces.
Follow change Management process when implementing new interfaces and technical changes and bug fixes to existing interfaces including: Maintenance of the Asset Register Upkeep of Installation Project Control files Maintenance of System Documentation Interface documentation including diagrams Assist with purchasing decisions on additional hardware and software requirements.
Planning and organisational skills To manage projects/work packages that have been assigned by Development Manager or Database Architect and provide project plans for the projects/upgrades.
To work to project deadlines and deliver integration requirements in line with project requirements under the instruction of project management.
To determine and document the requirements for new interfaces.
This will involve liaison with Trust staff and third-party suppliers to determine the precise and detailed clinical and business requirement in terms of data analysis, data mapping, data transfers and logic.
The generation of time estimates and financial quotations (in liaison with 3rd party suppliers where appropriate) to project management.
