Lichfield, United Kingdom Central England Coop Full time

What will you be doing? Focusing on the day-to-day Reward activity and supporting the wider People Team, as Reward Specialist you will be playing a critical part in the delivery of our reward plan and helping to contribute to the ongoing alignment of our reward framework to our cultural framework- we are the difference makers .
As Reward Specialist, you'll be helping support the Head of Reward and Wellbeing during annual Reward activity- which will include annual incentive scheme processes, benefit renewals, as well as legislative requirements.
You'll be contributing to helping us strive to continue to be better every day by being involved in new reward initiatives and innovative changes, improving our Reward offering to make a difference to our colleagues.
In this varied role, you'll be participating in a range of activities including salary surveys, benchmarking salary structures as well as benefits, levelling jobs, collecting data from external markets as well as providing data analysis.
Building strong working relationships throughout, you'll provide support and resolve queries from colleagues and managers as well as the wider team. You'll also be the lead on communications for any benefit changes and liaise with providers on membership or scheme changes.
Utilising your creative skills, you'll develop new pages and content on our reward platform in addition to creating communication content whilst making sure you engage stakeholders.
You'll provide support in ensuring that Reward policies and information are always accurate and up to date.
How will I know if I am right for this role? This role would suit a confident self-starter who can bring a 'can do' attitude. You'll need to enjoy taking on a challenge and be comfortable in managing a project through to completion.
Previous experience in both the day-to-day management as well as annual management of benefits is desirable but not essential. Ideally, you'll have previous reward experience – such as salary and benefits benchmarking, collating data, or involvement in incentive scheme design.
Due to the nature of the role, you'll need to bring a high level of attention to detail in both data and communications. An innovative and creative forward thinker, you'll seek potential opportunities in line with strategic focuses.
Strong communication skills are essential, as this role will see you working within the wider People team and enable you to make a positive impact on the wider team through knowledge sharing.
Ideally, you'll be familiar with payroll systems as well as being confident in Microsoft Excel- able to fully utilise VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc.
To be successful in this role, you will be colleague focused and find enjoyment when being able to think on your feet, creating solutions, positively responding to challenges, and working using your own initiative. You'll also demonstrate an understanding of the autonomy required for this role due to the confidential and sensitive nature of some of the information you will be accessing.
What is in it for me? We offer flexibility and welcome applications looking for job share or part time opportunities as well as those looking for full time.
And in return… We are the difference makers and understand flexibility makes a difference- we understand a 'one size fits all' approach doesn't work for colleagues when it comes to flexibility and balancing work with home life.
We have introduced new ways of working to support our colleague's wellbeing and embrace ways of working that work for everyone.
Our hybrid working policy included daily quiet time that is free of meetings, with an 'unplugged' Friday morning and shorter meeting durations for wellbeing breaks in between calls.
We are also trialling "Workflex" across our Support Centre, Funeral and Retail locations which offers colleagues the opportunity to work a compressed 4-day working week, 9-day fortnight or a mix of both. More reasons to join us at Central Co-op.
In addition to our hybrid working, flexible working and competitive salaries, our colleagues also benefit from:
Fantastic colleague discount - including a discount of up to 20% on our products. Healthcare benefits - including an annual health check, access to a virtual GP and other health support. Retail discounts - our new hub offers colleagues access to hundreds of exclusive retail discounts, save money on days out and take advantage of holiday discounts. Holiday buy - colleagues can buy up to a week extra of annual leave each year to enjoy the things that matter to them outside of work. Colleague recognition - we make sure we celebrate our colleague's achievements both personally and professionally. Enhanced family friendly policies - we want to help you feel fully supported during any significant life events. Share of the profits - we pay a share of our profits to eligible colleagues as a thank you for their contribution to our success. Paid time for volunteering - we encourage our colleagues to spend three days per year taking part in volunteering, fully paid for by us. Give as you earn - as a caring society, we want to help you support charities which mean something to you. Healthcare Cashplan - your wellbeing is important, so you are able to contribute to a voluntary plan that helps pay towards a range of healthcare expenses. Company Pension - colleagues can access a company pension scheme with us and receive an employer contribution when they too contribute. We also offer Pension wellbeing information to help you plan for retirement. Life Assurance - you'll get free life assurance cover, that pays your nominated beneficiary if you die while you're working for us. Personalised learning and development - with easy access to a wide range of training programmes. Who are we? As a progressive Society, we want the people in our communities to thrive, for generations to come. Our people are the energy behind this positive change. We're looking for like-minded people who want to support our communities and know the needs of the people who live in them, to help us reach our goal of creating a sustainable society for all.
