Job summary One Permanent Full Time hour Post / One Full time hour 12 Month Fixed Term Contract,We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our dedicated team providing a diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine service.The service currently has 6 gamma cameras and providing a comprehensive range of PET, Bone Mineral Densitometry, radionuclide imaging and non-imaging diagnostic procedures.
The department also provides a dedicated paediatric Nuclear Medicine service at our satellite department at Birmingham Children's Hospital.As a member of this skilled, friendly team, you will carry out a wide range of duties appropriate to role and experience.
You will provide support by assisting with day to day duties involved in running the service.
This will involve carrying out patient preparation, preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, arranging appointments, preparing equipment, stock control, quality assurance and monitoring/cleaning of equipment and work areas.If you are qualified to Higher National Certificate level and have an interest in Nuclear Medicine then this is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of dedicated staff.Based within Nuclear Medicine at QEHB this post will also involve working at Birmingham Children's Hospital, Good Hope and Heartlands.
We have two vacancies, one on a permanent basis, hours a week and the other post is a fixed term contract for 12 months, hours a week.
Main duties of the job The Nuclear Medicine Service is a specialised diagnostic and treatment facility based on four sites (Queen Elizabeth (QE), Birmingham Children's Hospital (BCH), Good Hope (GH) and Heartlands (HH)).
The case mix is highly specialised and this is reflected in the range of investigations and treatments that are provided.
Some investigations and treatments routinely provided at University Hospitals Birmingham Foundation Trust (UHBFT) would not be provided at an average district general hospital.
