Job summary Exciting opportunity of a Clinical Healthcare Support Worker to come and join the team at Lincoln County Hospital.
Main duties of the job The Clinical Healthcare Support Worker (CHSW) will support a registered midwife or medical practitioner in the delivery of care to women and babies using the maternity services.
The CHCSW will be able to carry out a defined range of duties involving direct care in support of the midwife.The ideal candidate should be motivated and committed to join a supportive, forward thinking team.
Ideally they should have experience of working as a Band 2 Health Care Support Worker or something similar, with experience within the Maternity, Neonate or Paediatric services.
Training and assessment will be provided to enable the candidate to provide the clinical duties as outlined in the job description.

From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Pilgrim Hospital is situated beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area.
It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.
Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area.
It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire.
Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Maternity specific training will be provided to successful candidate.Weekend, bank holiday and night working will be required as part of this role.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Literacy and numeracy qualifications equivalent to Functional Skills level 1 or above ( GCSE grade E or above) NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care or equivalent qualification or relevant experience Evidence of the Care Certificate or commitment to achieve on joining Trust Motivated to develop knowledge and skills and to undertake self-development Desirable Understanding of the Code of Conduct for Health Care Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England Previous Experience Essential Significant experience of the NHS and/or health/child care and an interest in the speciality with knowledge of wider issues relating to health care Clear understanding of professional accountability, delegation and professionalism related to the role of a band 3 worker Makes a positive contribution as a team player and demonstrates awareness of importance of working as part of a team Able to deliver a high standard of care for patients and always striving to improve on what you do through change and innovation Able to communicate effectively with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multidisciplinary team Is sensitive to the impact and implications of decisions and activities undertaken on other professionals Knowledge, Skills & Aptitudes Essential Able to work under minimal supervision but fully aware when to escalate concerns to a registered practitioner Flexible, adaptable, organised with good time management skills Ability to cope effectively under pressure and resilient and work within the team to manage complex and challenging situations Good written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with tact, diplomacy, empathy and understanding IT skills in order to access required systems such as electronic patient record Desirable Working knowledge of Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Manual Handling Specific Requirements Essential Able to prioritise and to organise and motivate oneself and others to achieve delegated tasks Flexible approach to shift patterns and unit needs which may involve working in different areas or cross site working Able to effectively and appropriately escalate concerns to reduce risk and promote patient safety Able to use own initiative within the boundaries of the role and able to motivate oneself and others
