Clinical Healthcare Support Workers

Job summary Clinical Healthcare Support Workers - Experienced and New to care Opportunities We currently have opportunities for individuals with or without previous experience at Lincoln County Hospital.
Healthcare Support Workers deliver a key role that's at the very heart of healthcare, and can be found across a variety of settings, from hospital clinics, to our wards and outreach services.
We are currently recruiting for both experienced Clinical Healthcare Support Workers, and also those without previous experience across our hospital sites.
What ever your background story, if you're aged 18 years or over and have a passion for caring and supporting others, we want to hear from you.
It's a hands-on-role, but also one of the most rewarding.
Your day-to-day will vary depending on which part of the NHS you're working in.
Start date - 17th March 2025 Main duties of the job New to Care?
For entrants without previous experience, we offer a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker post.
These individuals will provide personal care to our patients, supporting patients with aspects such as toileting, bathing, dressing and meals.
Full training and support will be provided to all individuals via our Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship development programme.
Please note, due to the level of training required, this post is only available as a full-time position and will include shift working hours.
Time off-the-job will be provided for training.
Experienced Candidates For those with existing experience, we have opportunities for Band 3 Clinical Healthcare Support Workers, whose role will be to undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties, recording patient observations and progressing patients treatment plans within guidelines set.
Clinical duties may include taking blood pressure, blood glucose monitoring, routine observations, wound observations and simple wound dressings, removal of peripheral cannulas and catheters.
Our Band 3 Clinical Healthcare Support Workers are able to work without the need for direct supervision.
Ongoing training and development will however be provided to ensure the enhanced clinical competencies have been achieved relevant to the ward/area of specialty.
Whilst our Band 3 posts are available as a full time or part-time position, applicants are reminded that they will include shift working patterns.
About us Commitment to Ongoing Personal Development Many of our Healthcare Support Workers have joined from different backgrounds such as customer service, hospitality, and the travel sector to name a few.
All you need is the human touch, a willingness to learn, and an ability to bring a smile to someone's face.
As a newly certified teaching hospital, we seek to provide opportunities for all staff to develop and progress.
Our nursing development pathway is fully established across the Trust and offers the opportunity for individuals to access ongoingtraining and development for progression up to many registered occupations.
We are also committed to helping our staff balance their work and home lives and ensure they feel supported, valued and appreciated.
Work Life Balance Whilst our Band 3 Clinical Healthcare Support Worker posts do offer flexible and part-time opportunities, our Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker opportunities are only able to accommodate full-time applicants due to the level of training required for the post.
However, upon completion of the Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship, our Band 2 Healthcare Support Workers will be offered the additional training and development required to progress to the Band 3 Clinical Healthcare Support Worker role, at which point flexible hours can be supported.
Job description Job responsibilities Simplified Application Process We understand that the size of the NHS can sometimes make it difficult to navigate, especially with the different areas and various specialities
So, weve come together to simplify the process.
Acting centrally on behalf of our wards and departments, we will provide the details through a single advert, enabling individuals to apply once whilst being considered for the various opportunities available.
Applicants suitability for a new to care Band 2 position or an experienced Band 3 position will be considered based upon their previous experience outlined within their application.
Successful applicants will then be further assessed at interview to determine which level of role would be most suitable.
Candidates invited for interview will be given the opportunity to highlight their preference of location and/or speciality, should they wish.
Age Criteria Please be advised that our current opportunities are only available to individuals over the age of 18.
Right to Work / Visa Unfortunately, neither of these posts are eligible for sponsorship, and therefore all applicants must have the right to reside and work in the UK.
In respect of the Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker post for individuals without previous experience, please be advised that the training will be delivered over a period of 12months through our apprenticeship programme.
Due to national funding rules for apprenticeships, applicants must be able to evidence they have resided in the UK for a period of 3years or more.
