Job summary Are you a team player with excellent communication and management skills, and a willingness to develop education within a friendly dynamic tertiary NICU.
We are seeking a Band 6 Qualified in Specialty neonatal nurse who would be interested in joining our Practice Development Team working 2 days a week in the Clinical Practice Facilitator (CPF) role and the remaining hours working on the NICU clinical Roster, to cover maternity leave.The NICU is one of the 3 tertiary centres for the Eastern Neonatal network and part of the East of England Neonatal ODN.
The unit admits babies requiring tertiary neonatal care including surgery and neurosurgery.
Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for facilitating all members of the nursing team.
The Practice Development Team facilitate all staff through the 'Development Pathway' from induction of newly appointed staff, preparation and support for the Qualified in Specialty modules and consolidation of skills following the course.
The CPF will also work alongside pre and post registration students, acting as a role model to strive for the delivery of first-class patient care.
The post holder will also help in the facilitation of mandatory training and study days to ensure all staff remain up to date in their knowledge and skills.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Current registration with the NMC Paediatric RN or Adult RN Post registration Neonatal Critical Care qualification NLS training Teaching and assessing qualification and /or Mentorship Module Safeguarding Children training level 1,2,3 Desirable Evidence of degree level study NLS instructor status Recruitment and retention experience Appraisal training Leadership course Experience Essential Experience at Band 6 in a level 2 or 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Continuing experience as a mentor to Neonatal Critical Care course learners Desirable Experience obtained in more than one Neonatal setting.
Previous experience of mentoring in the clinical setting Presenting a topic within a formal setting at study days or conferences Knowledge Essential Works within the boundaries of local and national policies and professional issues To have a depth of neonatal nursing knowledge, integrating theory and practice.
To have a contemporary knowledge of professional nursing strategy.
