We are open to both part-time and full-time consultants to work collaboratively with 30 like-minded Anaesthetists across the 9 Hospitals within the group.

Main duties of the jobIn this key role, you'll be anaesthetising patients for all kinds of procedures from ophthalmology to orthopaedics, and from gynaecology to general surgery. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you'll also have the chance to get involved in the administrative and managerial aspects of the department, and in the development of less experienced colleagues.

Person SpecificationQualificationsUK registered Medical Degree.Past record of FRCA academic achievement or equivalentFull and Specialist GMC Registration in relevant speciality.Teaching qualificationExperience in training medical trainees and other professionalsExperienceWide training and experience in anaesthesia.Able to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems in anaesthesia.Able to take full and independent responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision.Training in managementExperience of working in a surgical centreUnderstanding of audit and Clinical GovernanceEvidence of clinical outcomesDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
