We are currently looking to recruit 2 Podiatrists to join the CPFT Podiatry Service working in the community in Cambridgeshire.
The successful applicants will work primarily in their locality podiatry team but will be required to support the service across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough when needed.
We operate out of key sites in Oak Tree Centre/ Doddington Community Hospital/Princess of Wales Hospital/ North Cambs Hospital/ Chesterton Medical Centre/ City Care Centre.
We are open to Podiatrists from various professional backgrounds including newly qualified staff and staff looking to join the NHS from private practice.
We have developed a comprehensive preceptorship program for newly qualified Podiatrists, and a structured competency framework for more experienced Podiatrists to ensure those joining the team experience a structured, supportive onboarding experience.
There is scope for the positions to be full or part-time alongside potential for compressed hours (eg full-time hours over 4 day weeks or 9 day fortnights).
Access to a vehicle and a full UK driving license is a mandatory requirement of this role to ensure adequate cover for agile, community working.
Main duties of the job The post-holder will be competent across all core areas of Podiatry and have a strong team work ethic and sense of accountability.
The successful candidate will work within the Podiatry team to support our core cohort of patients, with scope for specialist practice dependant on the individuals skillset.

Within the service there is ample opportunity for professional growth and development across the variety of specialisms we offer from diabetic and high risk foot management, in both the community and acute settings, to assisting in our community-run Podiatric Surgery unit.
Alongside this there is also opportunity to specialise within our MSK or Nail Surgery teams.
There are opportunities to develop line management and mentoring skills through supporting of Podiatry students, our apprentice Podiatrists and Footcare Assistants.

Job description Job responsibilities Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities To be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of podiatric care to a variety of patients with a wide range of clinical needs including: High Risk Diabetes Neuropathy Chronic disease e.g., Rheumatoid Arthritis Vascular conditions Wound management/tissue viability Care will be provided in a range of settings including: Hospital Clinics Ward Rounds Health Centre Community Clinics GP Practice Clinics Residential Homes for the Elderly Patients Homes Care Centres for the Disabled To be responsible for the assessment and diagnosis of patients with subsequent production of individual treatment plan and be able to manage the day to day running of a busy clinic.
To complete all relevant internal competency development, including and not limited to Nail Surgery, MSK, High Risk.
To participate in the departmental rota for nail surgery as appropriate.
Assessment and identification of risk factors, categorising patients into appropriate risk banding as defined by the service assessment matrix.
To participate in the Feet Focus caseload.
To be responsible for the day-to-day planning of personal workloads for the completion of home visits and visits to residential homes for the elderly and care centres.
To be actively involved in the provision of foot health education advice to patients, relatives and carers, to participate in foot health training where appropriate for Primary Care and Social Care staff.
To be actively involved in the development of departmental policies, guidelines and protocols.
To be responsible for the maintenance and security of stock and equipment as appropriate.
To follow departmental policies, standard operating procedures and guidelines using discretion to make own clinical diagnosis and decisions within professional boundaries.
To be able to treat patients who may be immobile, wheelchair or bed-bound as appropriate.
To be flexible and provide cover for other Podiatrists at short notice or during periods of absence in other local areas and to undertake any other duties that may be required from time to time.
To ensure all duties are carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with current quality initiatives within local areas.
To maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
To carry out all duties with regard to the Trusts Equal Opportunities Policy.
Person Specification Education / Qualifications Essential HCPC registered podiatrist Podiatry diploma / degree Local anaesthetics certificate Evidence of continuing professional development in relevant areas.
Experience Essential Evidence based approach to wound management.
Desirable Broad based experience working in isolation and as a team member including the treatment and management of high risk patients on a regular basis.
Experience working in an NHS Podiatry setting.
Skills & Abilities Essential Excellent clinical skills utilising evidence based practice.
An understanding of clinical governance and clinical supervision.
Good time management and organisational skills Excellent communication skills Desirable Able to participate in standard setting and audit.
Skills in reflective practice Knowledge & Understanding Essential Knowledge of NHS systems and appropriate frameworks.
Accepts responsibility and accountability for own work and can define the responsibilities of others.
