Job summary Community Services, Merthyr & Cynon are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Clerk typist who will work closely and provide support an established medical secretarial service in Ysbyty Cwm Cynon.
The post holder will need to have a sound knowledge of using Microsoft office packages.
They will be required to demonstrate excellent typing/keyboard, communication, organisational, clerical and IT skills.
They need to be able to work on their own initiative and to work well as a team member.
An understanding of customer care and meeting the needs of the general public is necessary for this position, therefore an excellent telephone and communication manner will need to be demonstrated.
Main duties of the job The main purpose of this post will be to provide a good standard administration to support the medical secretary team.
This will also include the ability to undertake some audio typing.
They will undertake mail and filing duties, retrieving patient's medical notes and deal with patients, relative's carers and external partners on a regular day to day basis.It would be an advantage if the post holder was familiar with NHS information and clinical systems and in particular Myrddin, Welsh Clinical Portal along with a range of other clinical IT systems.
They will need to have an understanding of the principles of Referral to Treatment times an understanding of the processes for RTT.
