Job summary Are you a passionate and experienced CAMHS Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist looking for an exciting leadership opportunity?
We are inviting applications for the post of CAMHS CBT Lead with our Sussex Community CAMHS teams, which cover the geographical areas of East and West Sussex, and Brighton and Hove.
The successful applicant will provide professional leadership for our team of CAMHS Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists and other related roles Children's Wellbeing Practitioners; they will also lead our new OCD Pathway.

Main duties of the job You will be an experienced and BABCP accredited CAMHS cognitive behavioural psychotherapist accredited supervisor, (or with a commitment to meeting supervisor accreditation) who is passionate about providing effective evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
In addition to holding a clinical caseload, you will oversee professional and clinical supervision of CBT therapists and CWPs and other related roles as required.
You will work with the Associate Clinical Director, Head of Service, Consultant Psychological Professional Lead and locality clinical and operational leads in planning for the expansion of evidence-based low and high intensity CBT roles within the service.
You will provide leadership in the areas of CBT governance and service development.
You will join the CAMHS, Early Intervention and Perinatal services Psychological Professions Leadership Team, and receive regular supervision for the role.
You will also be joining a Trust which offers leadership development opportunities and access to wider networks, for example, the CBT and Related Interventions Practice Network.
You must hold full BABCP (British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy) accreditation and be accredited as a BABCP Supervisor; or have completed a Postgraduate Certificate in CYP-MH CBT Supervision; or be willing to undertake this training once in post.

Job description Job responsibilities As an experienced CAMHS CBT therapist with leadership experience, you will ensure the systematic provision of a highly specialist, multilevel CBT service that is outcomes focused, cost-effective, culturally appropriate and based on best clinical practice.
You will also offer a Leadership of CBT interventions that aligns with Trust and Service Area objectives, national strategic, and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations.
Leading on the clinical supervision of high intensity cognitive behavioural therapists and related low intensity roles including Child Well-being Practitioners (CWPs)and Senior Well-being Practitioners (SWPs), to ensure safe and effective CBT delivery, and working with colleagues on providing appropriate governance.
Supporting CBT, CWP and related recruitment and helping develop career development pathways.
Evaluating CBT provision across community CAMHS services in collaboration with clinical leads and identifying development opportunities Contributing to / coordination of NICE guideline and other best practice review/audit relating to cognitive behavioural interventions.
Collaborating with the Associate Clinical Director, professional and clinical leads in ensuring evidence-based delivery of group interventions within Community CAMHS, which are routinely evaluated and adapted to meet clinical need and in line with relevant literature.
Overseeing the development and review of CBT-based resources, self-help and digital resources employed within the service.
Collaborating with service leads to ensure an evidence-based 'Waiting Well' offer within CAMHS and access to evidence-based advice and support delivered by low intensity therapists.
Liaising with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) regarding training opportunities, including Recruit-to-Train and CYP-MH (formerly CYP-IAPT) programmes.
Liaising with HEIs and collaborating with professional leads and clinical leads to develop and implement a forward plan for delivery of high quality CBT supervision across roles including supervisors accessing formal PG Cert training where available.
Leading on CBT and CWP practise network development and working with colleagues to identify and implement continued professional development events Leading on the coordination of CBT skill development within the wider workforce, as indicated and ensuring appropriate supervision and clinical governance is established to support colleagues who are not formally trained in CBT or low intensity interventions, to use CBT skills whilst practicing within the scope of their experience and competencies.
Leading the CAMHS CBT offer including the planned development of an OCD pathway, alongside colleagues to ensure effective implementation of the advice signposting as well as the high intensity treatment pathway for this client group., Working with professional and clinical leads to enable stepped-care delivery of evidence-based psychological therapies alongside psychiatry and other interventions.
Maintaining relationships with key local and national partners (including local participation groups, the BABCP, CAMHS National and Specialist services, Universities, research projects and others) to ensure the very best CAMHS CBT service delivery.
Supporting CBT therapists and CWP practitioners to gain BABCP accreditation and liaising with colleagues in other modalities around CBT training and accreditation opportunities Working closely with the Service innovation and outcomes lead for Community CAMHS to fully embed appropriate clinical outcomes measurement (including sessional goal tracking) throughout delivery of low and high intensity CB interventions.
Person Specification Criteria Essential oAssessed experience of working as a qualified CYP-CBT therapist post-qualification, with extensive experience at a senior level working within NHS CAMHS services, providing leadership within pathways or teams.
oExperience of highly specialist psychological assessment and individual and group-based CBT treatment of clients.
oExperience of working with a wide variety of presentations that reflect the full spectrum of clinical complexity and severity seen within Specialist CAMHS.
oExtensive experience of teaching, training and supervision.
oRelevant post-qualification experience enabling the post holder to independently supervise trainees and qualified therapists in accordance with relevant criteria adopted by Universities delivering CYP-MH training programmes oExperience of exercising full clinical responsibility for the psychological care and treatment of referred clients, and of working within a multidisciplinary context wherein carries responsibility for the psychological aspects of a multidisciplinary care plan.
oExperience of representing cognitive behavioural therapy within a multidisciplinary CAMHS context.
oKnowledge and experience of the principles of CYP-MH (formally CYP-IAPT), the national programme of work to expand the workforce delivering psychological therapies and specifically new roles including CWP and SWP.
oA BABCP recognised core health profession (OR KSA completed and submitted to acheive BABCP accreditation) and post-graduate level training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy OR post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology [or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or outside the UK] as approved by the HCPC oFull BABCP accreditation as both a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and CBT Supervisor oSatisfactory completion of a CYP-MH Post-Graduate Certificate in Supervision in CYP-MH Services or an equivalent qualification in supervision or leadership or willing to undertake this in post Desirable Post-qualification training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
Training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, supervision and/or other fields of psychological therapy.
