ABOUT THE ROLE:  As a Team Leader, you will work as part of a collaborative and supportive production management team leading activities to achieve personal, team and departmental targets whilst maintaining Company standards of safety, food safety & quality.
Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to: Lead a small team of multi-skilled operatives to deliver production targets whilst ensuring that all safety, food safety and OEE targets and standards are met.
Work collaboratively with other Team Leaders and Shift Managers to ensure the effective running of the operation.
Work supportively with our colleagues to drive our continuous improvement through McCain Driving Impact (MDI):     Lead shift huddles & handovers.
Support CID routes & Centreline management for your area.
Conduct Safety and Food Safety Coaching conversations and audits.
Support uptime by taking an active role in our defect handling process.
Respond pro-actively to hour-by-hour variance to plan "abnormality management" Ensure that hourly performance boards are updated, any issues highlighted with appropriate remedial action taken and present the data and update on actions during weekly meetings To coach and support team members to achieve full multi-skilling of all operatives, through the creation of opportunities for up-skilling and training which support this Undertake safety and food safety investigations as required Manage the performance of team members, addressing areas for improvement and undertaking performance reviews in line with the annual performance cycle (P@M).
To ensure optimum staffing levels are achieved through the pro-active management of holidays and other absences.
Work with Team Leaders and Shift Managers to ensure that operatives are flexible and utilised across the department to support the whole team.
Manage day to day issues relating to your team, including absence, disciplinary matters and grievances in line with Company policy1Undertake project work at area, site, department or regional level, as required ensuring it is delivered to agreed standards and timescales.
Ensure that SOP's and SWM's are in place, that all colleagues are working to them and take responsibility for ensuring that opportunities for optimisation of working practices are implemented and documents updated to reflect them.
Work collaboratively with other Team Leaders to provide cover for holidays and absence and ensure appropriate communications and handovers take place.

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?
The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.
WHERE YOU'LL WORK?
You'll be based at our Wombourne plant in Staffordshire.
And together, our small but perfectly formed team of over 110 colleagues produce our famous (and well loved) potato Smiles as well as our pre-baked Jacket Spuds.
