Job overview The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS trust currently care for approximately 760,000 people in the Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells area.

The Centre is highly regarded for the excellent care it provides and for its work with major pharmaceutical companies in conducting vital research to support the development of new cancer treatments.
Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and SACT clinically skilled nurse to join our Oncology Day Unit.
You will assist in leading the team to provide expert clinical and supportive care for patients receiving Chemotherapy with Haematological/Oncological disease.
You will work with the multi-disciplinary teams and the wider teams in supporting patients throughout their treatment pathway, providing individualised, compassionate and informed patient care.You should possess excellent leadership skills, with a minimum of three years experience in a cancer/haematology/oncology environment.
Be visible and accessible with quality and standards as your priority.
You will need to be flexible and resilient in order to cope with the demands of the role.
The post-holder should be prepared to support transition to a 6 day service if required in the future.The post will be based at Maidstone Hospital but post holder will be expected to work collaboratively across site and therefore some travel to Tunbridge Wells may be necessary.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.You will be expected to attend the Trust's 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics.
The programme is full-time (please email if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites.
The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced level.
