Job summary We are seeking to appoint Specialists in Geriatrics and General (Internal) Medicine to join our forward-thinking department making a total of 12 Senior decision makers in Geriatrics across the Trust.
These posts are to support the expansion of the Geriatrics/General Internal Medicine Department.
The successful candidates will form one of a team of senior decision makers in each department providing service at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Goole & District Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital & Community Services - with the base to be at Goole Hospital.
Main duties of the job Goole District Hospital is a smaller hospital with outpatient facilities, maternity, a minor injuries unit and in-patient wards for non-Acute patients (Post-acute, rehabilitation, end of life care, stroke rehabilitation, waiting D2A when east Riding residents, long term IV Antimicrobials).
It is also the site of the Diagnostic and Treatment Centre, which performs day case and in-patient orthopaedic surgery for a large geographic area.
The hospital has X-ray facilities linked to the Trust PACS system.
There is an Acquired Brain Injury Unit called GNRC (Goole Neuro Rehab Centre) which is run by the Trust/ Community and therapies team.
The Trust provides Community Services in North Lincolnshire.
There are 5 Locality teams comprising District Nurses, Therapists, Social Workers, and support staff who work with GPs, mental health, voluntary services, and the hospital to provide care for adults in the community.
The trust also supports a range of virtual wards, outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy, and community beds.

Job description Job responsibilities The post would suite an enthusiastic team player dedicated to high quality patient care.
The opportunity exists to work in a non-hierarchical setting and offer a wide range of Geriatrics procedures in these busy District General Hospitals and community settings.
The post holder is expected to contribute to a service which is both Consultant-led and delivered.
Undertake board rounds and patient reviews of the allocated inpatient Review all new medical admissions when rostered for Geriatrics on- call duty within the timeframe of the operational standard for the Trust and remain responsible for the care of these patients until they are either discharged from unit or transferred to the specialty ward whereby the care is transferred.
Direct and manage the team to deliver effective, safe, and timely care in line with the operating standards of the AAU Leadership role in specialty Liaise with specialty clinicians to facilitate their early involvement and management where needed.
Further develop functional links with the community to facilitate seamless transfer of patients between the community and the hospital.
Ensure timely completion of all documentation pertinent to an admission, transfer, discharge, or death, in line with hospital standards.
