Opiate Recovery Worker

Apricus Resourcing are currently looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and adaptable Opiate Prescribing Specialist Substance Misuse Recovery Worker (DARW/SMRW/SMW/DDW) for a leading Opioid Specialist Substance Misuse Criminal Justice Recovery Service based in Widnes.
The role is based with a charity that are really passionate about providing a personal recovery service.
This role is working full time with standard hours 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am-5pm.
This role works in collaboration with GPs, partner organisation staff and other health and social care professionals to deliver a shared care service, alcohol service, providing specialist interventions.
Your primary duty will be prescribing opiate substitution therapy and access to detoxification.
Furthermore, you will carry out both 1-1 and group work and to deliver outreach services including the supply of naloxone, Needle and Syringe Provision at a range of locations, offering a range of harm reduction interventions and advice.
Due to the short term demands of this position it is essential you have prior experience of Prescribing for Opiates as sadly due to team constraints training cannot be given at this time.
The ideal candidate will possess: • Knowledge and experience of Opiate Substitute Treatment (OST) pathways.
• Demonstrable experience working with young people, particularly those affected by substance misuse.
• Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with young people, their families, and other professionals.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
In return for your commitment we are able to offer a very competitive rate of pay of between £19.00 - £19.86 per hour dependent on experience, however it may be possible to negotiate above this for candidates with exceptional experience.
