Job summary We are a busy surgery looking for a Grade 2 HealthCare Assistant (HCA) to join our team.
We currently provide care to over 17,000patients in Bicester and the surrounding areas and as the town grows, so do we.Our Nursing team are an integral part of the practice providing care for ourpatients.The ideal candidate will have phlebotomyexperience in a GP or other clinical setting with the qualifications, experience,and aptitude to work within a primary care team of GPs and Allied HealthcareProfessionals.
Our team includes Minor Illness practitioners, Pharmacists andPharmacy Technicians, Physiotherapists, Mental Health Workers, a Bicester wideFrailty Team, nurses - including specialists in Diabetes and Respiratory.The role is busy, challenging at times, and will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care.

Job description Job responsibilities The Grade 2 Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.Core responsibilities:PhlebotomyNew patient health checksECG recordingBasic chronic disease reviewsVaccinationsSignposting to other members of the MDTOther responsibilities:Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs or practice nurses Vaccine /cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Chaperoning duties Assist GPs with coil clinics Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being Attend and participate in Practice meetings as required Participate in training and CPD as necessary / appropriate Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post Person Specification Qualifications Essential Qualified in Phlebotomy Desirable Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care Experience Essential Experience of working in a GP practice Desirable Experience with EMIS software
