Policy Project Lead (Consumer Policy) We are looking to recruit a number of experienced policy professionals to support our policy development - including Policy Project Lead, Policy Manager and Policy Associate .

These policy roles, part of our new Consumer Policy and Engagement Directorate, will support work in evolving and high-profile areas of work, including around empowering consumers, complaints handling, and high-volume consumer claims.
The Policy Project Lead role This lead role requires a seasoned policy specialist with experience in strategic policy development and a thorough understanding of the policy landscape in our sector.
As the Policy Project Lead, you should be capable of leading major policy projects, and able to learn and manage complex issues quickly and thrive under tight deadlines.
You will have a strong understanding of the consumer interest and ensure the impact on consumers is front and centre in the development of policy solutions.
With substantial senior-level policymaking experience, you will play a pivotal role in every aspect of the process from strategic design to implementation.
You'll lead the analysis, development and advocacy for key issues, providing strategic insights while delivering actionable policy solutions and driving them through to execution.
You will also be responsible for establishing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and have a proven ability to manage and influence complex stakeholder relationships and represent the SRA effectively with senior external stakeholders.
A member of the SRA's leadership team, you will promote the SRA's culture, values, policies and ways of working to large numbers of internal colleagues.

What we are looking for Regulatory policy specialist with significant senior level experience of policy making Proven experience of successfully leading major, complex policy change programmes and projects at pace Recent track record of successfully leading cross-organisational policy development, implementation and evaluation projects to agreed timetables Proven operational delivery skills with proven ability to deliver complex policy in short timeframes, gaining buy-in and support from relevant internal stakeholders Proven commitment to equality and diversity both as a colleague and regulator Highly analytical and intellectually agile, able to learn and manage complexity quickly Proven ability to use research and data to inform policy development Excellent writing skills and an ability to produce high quality board papers and other documents Highly developed interpersonal skills combined with experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships and working with a range of internal and external stakeholders - including those at the most senior levels.
Experience in consumer policy would be desirable Confident and clear communicator, both written and verbal.

The salary offer for this role is £65,000 for Birmingham and Cardiff based and £71,500 for London based.
