Job summary Sister/ Charge Nurse Band 6- Vascular ( hours a week)This is an exciting opportunity for a job within our expanding Vascular Department at Gloucester Hospital, having recently moved and now have 29 beds on our unit.
We are a growing department and work collaboratively to ensure our patients receive safe and effective care.

You will be expected to Develop, Lead and Manage a patient centred service delivering and ensuring high standards of care.
You will deputise for the Senior Sister and contribute towards Strategic and Operational Transformation of this innovative service by Inspiring Leading and Supporting this team and the specialty with opportunities to develop your own aspirations.We look forward to your applications Main duties of the job To manage and professionally lead the nursing team in the clinical area along with and in the absence of the band 7, and as part of the multi-disciplinary teamTo deliver and supervise patient care for the clinical area; ensuring assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of a high standard of careTo use a family centred care approach to manage a caseload of patients within a defined clinical areaTo be a role model to your own team of nurses and healthcare assistants- Have the ability to lead team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care with the multidisciplinary team;- Have the ability to disseminate contentious and delicate information appropriately;- To lead and deliver safe person centred care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, using equipment and resources safely and as appropriate.
This will include the management of the day surgery unit on a regular basis, involving the effective use of trolley spaces and ensuring staff skill mix remains at an appropriate and safe level;- To administer medication and treatment within Procedure for the Ordering, Prescribing and Administration of Medical Guidelines;- To deliver and receive information which may cause emotional distress to all parties;- Participate in mentorship and educational programmes for students and other members of the team;- To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures and professional code of conduct;- To support line manager About us It is expected that all employees uphold the values of the organisation as our values underpin everything we do and describe the way we expect our staff to behave towards our patients, families and carers and between each other.

"The 4b Ward is a fast pace, high turnover of patients and we care for acute and elective patients on our units.
Job description Job responsibilities Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required- Registered Adult Nurse with current registration status with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and able to meet the revalidation requirements with appropriate teaching/assessing qualification and with substantial post registration experience.- To have knowledge and understanding to be able to act as a resource and support the nursing team to provide high quality, evidence based care- Has relevant knowledge to be able to assist with the co-ordination of staff training to ensure a high professional standard in all aspects of patient care.- To work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team- Relevant acute nursing experience in a hospital setting- Recognised Nursing Degree or equivalent- Excellent organisational, line management, interpersonal and leadership skills.- A willingness to develop knowledge and skill is essential- Demonstrate proven change management skills.- An ability to perform clinical skills with dexterity- Knowledge of clinical governance, policy and procedure- An understanding of evidence based practice and nursing research and participate as required in audit- IT skills which can be built upon to incorporate the use of hospital administration, information and training systems- Organisation and time management skills- Demonstrate a clear understanding of Safeguarding policies and procedures.- Child Protection training and experience.- Evidence of post registration qualification/equivalent.- To participate in own and teams personal and professional development.

This will include demonstrating compliance with the terms of all safeguarding policies and processes relevant to the safeguarding of adults and children in the care of GHNHSFT and to undergo regular mandatory training concerned with safeguarding matters.- Report near misses and untoward incidents, complaints, clinical emergencies, injury or medicine administration errors as detailed in the departmental and Trust protocols.
