Workshop Support Operative

Workshop Support Operative North Tawton WE ARE LOOKING FOR A WORKSHOP SUPPORT OPERATIVE TO WORK OUT OF OUR BUSY NORTH TAWTON DEPOT.
The position of Workshop Support Operative involves: Booking out time for each job that is carried out and the relevant paperwork given to the Workshop Controllers.
Ensure that best practice is always employed in relation to component replacement; repair duration; document completion.
Provide support and assist the Fleet Workshop office staff to meet and surpass all agreed targets.
Take control of loaded brake tests requirements which will include vehicle trailer collections, facilitate loading vehicles and complete brake tests, once trained.
Carry out minor defect repairs and component replacements.
Organise workshop parking to ensure safe operational areas.
Maintain a clean and tidy workplace environment.
Due to the nature of the role, Health and Safety and Safe Systems of work are paramount.
You must ensure that you are following the company's health and safety policy at all times.
Essential skills required for Workshop Support Operative : Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
Previous hands-on experience to include defect rectification, working with vehicles on a daily basis and knowledge of vehicle systems.
Counterbalance forklift licence is advantageous, but not essential.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work to deadlines and under own initiative.

Basic salary for Workshop Support Operative is £36,714pa, based on 45 hours per week.
Hours of work are Monday - Friday, 07:00hrs - 16:30hrs.
Overtime is available and paid hourly at £23.54ph.
