Job summary The Pelvic Health Physiotherapy department is seeking an experienced, well-motivated, enthusiastic person to play a key role in supporting the team, offering treatment and ensuring the smooth running of the service.
They will work with qualified pelvic health physiotherapists and be part of the therapy assistant team.
They will also work with women, supporting them through important life stages, as well as administration teams, ward staff, procurement and suppliers.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, professional and have excellent assistant and administrative skills.
Experience in using Microsoft Office applications and a broad general education with experience in a health care setting is essential.
They will have a flexible approach to work, be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and be sensitive to the needs of patients using the service.
This is a 12 month Fixed-Term post for part time hours of hours per week.
Main duties of the job To undertake treatment of patients, as selected by a qualified therapist, and in which the assistant has been trained.
To ensure that therapy colleagues and other staff are kept informedof progress with patients and other delegated tasks.
To undertake group sessions with the focus on education and exercise.
To communicate and co-operate with patients, carers and other professionals in an often sensitive and emotional environment requiring mature interpersonal skills.
To undertake a range of departmental duties including clerical tasks, stock maintenance, housekeeping.
To ensure all therapy equipment and facilities are ready for use and comply with Health and Safety regulations.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care OR BTEC Professional Development Qualification for Physiotherapy Support Workers (or relevant NVQ level 3) Relevant experience working as a Healthcare support worker in Therapy or other AHP department General education level to GCSE or equivalent Evidence of Literacy and Numeracy to Level 2 qualification Knowledge & Nature of Experience Essential Experience of working with adults.
Recent health or social care experience Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology Standard keyboard and skills.
Manual handling skills.
Basic resuscitation skills Ability to work with others in a team.
Evidence of ability to organise self and others Able to take and follow instructions Ability to observe and report changes Self-motivation.
Problem-solving skills.
Desirable Previous experience working as a Therapy Assistant in Physiotherapy Experience of training other staff.
Wide range of experience in pelvic health conditions and related interventions.
Analytical and Judgement Skills Essential Ability to use initiative and work independently Desirable Audit experience Professional/Managerial/Specialist Knowledge Essential Experience of working in MDT Computer literacy Excellent IT skills and previous experience of using of patient Information systems or similar in addition to Microsoft Office/Excel software.
