Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job summary We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to join the Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Team, in supporting the patients undergoing investigations for a suspected Lung cancer as well as providing holistic care for patients with a confirmed Lung Cancer.
This role will entail managing the caseload for two hospital sites Bronglais and Glangwili.
The successful candidate will nominate their base site.
Main duties of the job An experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist with a high level of skill and theoretical knowledge in Lung Cancer.
The purpose of this role is to provide specialist nursing care, advice, guidance in Lung , plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based nursing care.
Support Rapid Access Lung Cancer Clinics.
Travelling between hospital sites.
Manage own caseload and provide nurse led clinics.
Establish and maintain effective communication with patients and carers/relatives, and professionals across health and social services.
Provide expert advice and clinical practice.
Work autonomously and manage own workload as a clinical nurse specialist in their area of Lung Cancer.
Provide specialist education and training to Staff.
To be a Non-Medical Prescriber or willingness to undertake Non-Medical Prescribing course.

Community facilities, including: 48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Essential Registered Nurse (Part 1) Current NMC Registration Masters Degree or equivalent experience Specialist qualifications Expert level of knowledge in clinical speciality Knowledge of service improvement Able to undertake a literature search and critically appraise research papers Desirable Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience).
