IT Asset Management (ITAM) Consultant Objectives: We are seeking a highly seasoned and skilled ITAM Consultant, with a broad overarching experience across the ITAM domain to lead and support the design, development, implementation, improvement and transformation of these functions within the business at this critical phase.
The primary roles in scope are: Software Asset Management (SAM) Asset (AM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Configuration Management (CMDB) Experience across other ITAM roles will be considered high beneficial.
Candidates may also be considered, on an individual basis, based on their skillset across some, but not all these roles.
What you will do: With the support of a team of project and internal specialists, in each role, you will: Across All Roles Develop and Maintain Documentation: Manage creation, and ongoing revision, of all required standards, governance and policies.
Ensure compliance with all risk, data and overarching governance requirements and support identification and engagement of relevant stakeholders.
Implement Reporting, Verification and Audits: Lead the development, implementation, and execution of verification processes, audits, controls, attestations, metrics, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to address data accuracy, reconciliation, normalization, duplication and coverage challenges.
Access Control and Security: Support the identification, definition and implementation process for Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Document Processes and Procedures: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all related processes and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency.
Support Data Issue Resolution: Manage the implementation and execution of corrective actions necessary to resolve data-related issues effectively.
Process Improvement: Identify and manage implementation of process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness.
Create Training Materials: Manage development and delivery of training materials and sessions to enhance understanding and compliance with these practices.
Participate in Meetings: Attend relevant meetings and provide supporting to facilitate informed decision-making and process improvement.
Engage Stakeholders: Collaborate with all stakeholders and support teams to gather requirements and ensure successful delivery of all activities.
Software Asset Management (SAM) ** Snow License Manager (SLM), Snow Inventory (INV) & Snow Integration Manager (SIM) highly preferable ** Compliance : Support SAM team in management of software assets, software licensing, usage, reporting, compliance and optimisation.
Integrations : Manage and support implementation of SAM tooling connectors and integrations with M365, Adobe CC, SaaS and CMDB.
Platform Optimisation : Manage improvement and optimisation activities on the current (Snow) SAM tooling platform.
Coverage : Improve scope and coverage of SAM tooling capabilities across the IT environment to achieve full coverage, identifying Shadow IT and implementation of management by exception if required.
Guidance & Support : Support SAM team in their development and understanding of more advanced SAM techniques, requirements and solutions.
Automation : Identify and support implementation of automated solutions to reduce manual overhead on day-to-day activities.
Asset (AM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) ** ServiceNow HAM PRO highly preferable ** Asset Lifecycle Management: Lead development of, integration points, triggers, data capture and automated workflow, of the entire lifecycle of hardware assets from procurement to disposal.
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Ensure all asset related TCO articles are recorded and tracked, incl.
purchase cost, support and maintenance, warranty, depreciation and disposal to ensure TCO can be reported.
ServiceNow HAM PRO Configuration: Advise and support the ServiceNow platform team in configuring the ServiceNow HAM PRO module to optimise and support asset management processes.
CMDB Integration: Identify and manage requirements to ensure CMDB optimally intersects with AM.
Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of all assets and support automated and manual processes to ingest and manage the data.
Implement Verification and Audits: Support the development, implementation, and execution of verification processes, audits, controls, metrics, KPIs, and reporting solutions to address data accuracy, reconciliation, normalization, duplication and asset coverage challenges.
Audit and Review : Support definition, scope, frequency and implementation of asset audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Configuration Management (CMDB) ** ServiceNow CMDB highly preferable ** Conduct Application Discovery: Manage service discovery activities to ensure all Configuration Items (CIs) and services in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) are accurately mapped, correctly related, and have clearly defined ownership.
Manage Configuration Item Types: Identify and support the development of new CI types and data source integration solutions, enhancing the overall Configuration Management framework in delivery of a data source of truth solution.
Data Optimisation (ServiceNow): Use CMDB Health Dashboard, Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE), attestations and CMDB Workspace to manage CI and service data.
Document Processes and Procedures: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all related processes and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency.
Audit and Review : Support definition, scope, frequency and implementation of CMDB audits to ensure compliance.
What youll bring: Extensive ITAM Experience: 5 years of experience in leading the design, implementation, support, and enhancement of these roles.
SAM Experience: 5 years of experience in SAM tooling, software licensing and optimisation, integration of tooling with M365, Adobe CC, SaaS, CMDB, etc.. (Snow SLM\INV\SIM and ServiceNow highly preferable).
ServiceNow Proficiency: 3 years of related hands-on experience within ServiceNow.
Comprehensive IT Knowledge: Strong understanding of complex enterprise IT technologies, including endpoints, servers (on-prem, private & public cloud), databases, networks, storage solutions, clustering etc..
IT Service Management Expertise: At least 5 years of ITSM experience, particularly in environments where the CMDB, SAM and AM integrates with Change, Incident, Problem and related ITSM processes.
ITIL Framework Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL principles, with ITIL v4 certification highly preferred but not mandatory.
Concepts and Governance: In-depth understanding of ITAM and CMDB concepts, data modelling, data hierarchy, and governance principles to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong data analytical abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving, enabling effective resolution of data-related challenges.
Data-Driven Performance Analysis: Strong skills in the development, implementation and execution of supporting dashboards, controls, metrics, KPIs and reporting (preferably, but not exclusively, in the ServiceNow platform).
Leadership: Strong organisation and project management skills and experience in managing a team of specialists, and competing priorities, to ensure successful delivery Proficient in MS Office Suite: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to support documentation and reporting needs.
Exceptional Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Additional Skills and Experience: Certifications: Associated ITAM, ITIL and ServiceNow certifications.
This is a hybrid working position and would require being on site 2 days per week in London or Glasgow.
