These newly developed posts, based within Wrexham area, will provide caring clinicians with flexibility, autonomy and professional growth and development.
As part of our transformation and development of Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, we are strengthening our leadership, pathways and services to provide a rapid, robust and extended multi-agency crisis response that includes prompt assessment, liaison, consultation, training and where appropriate intensive time limited interventions for children and young people up to the age of 18, who are experiencing an acute mental health and/or psycho-social crisis.
We are looking to recruit experienced, registered practitioners and welcome applications from applicants who have not worked in CAMHS but have transferable skills relevant to the role.
We would welcome skills and experience in working with young people and families with complex difficulties, experience in completing mental health assessments and risk management.
Main duties of the job Undertake assessments within A+E, paediatric wards & other community settings to provide a rapid crisis response, consistent with identified needs, to ensure the safety of the young person & others.
Provide clinical formulation, identifying the young person's & family's needs, offer liaison, consultation & brief intervention where required to facilitate safe discharge & support care planning across partner agencies.
You will be required to work flexibly as the service develops to a 24hr provision.
Part of a multi-disciplinary unscheduled care service, working with children & young people (CYP) who are experiencing a mental health &/or psycho-social crisis, whereby hospital admission is a strong possibility, but can be safely supported at home or within another community setting.
Provide urgent assessment & brief intervention &/or specific evidence based therapies to CYP with mental health problems & significant mental health disorders.
To support parents, carers & professionals in understanding & supporting CYP through providing education, advice & direction on how to manage difficulties.
Using a team approach, work flexibly intensively, creatively & responsively to clients' needs.
The post holder will ensure good links within the designated CAMHS area & other relevant agencies & professionals.

Person Specification Qualifications and/or Knowledge Essential Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registered Nurse, Mental Health.
OR Social Worker registered with the Care Council.
OR Occupational Therapist registered with the Health Professions Council Evidence of personal and clinical development.
Evidence of post graduate training for the supervision and teaching of junior staff.
Extensive knowledge of mental health issues Up to date knowledge and application of consent, data protection, patient confidentiality and risk management with Health and Safety issues.
Up to date working knowledge of the Mental Health Act.
Knowledge of relevant national strategies.
Knowledge of Information and Technology Communication Knowledge of the principles of change management.
Desirable Degree in relevant clinical/professional area Specialist practitioner award Knowledge of Interview and Appraisal process.
Knowledge of management theories.
Knowledge of local policies / procedures and guidelines.
Experience Essential Relevant post registration experience of working with children, young people and families in a health or social care environment or mental health setting Desirable Experience of resource management and policy development.
