We're seeking a Head of Exterior Design to join our rapidly growing team.
Reporting to our Director of Creative.
This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity from our planned Bicester location and our office in Leamington Spa.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

What you'll do 1.
Lead Design Vision: o Set and execute the creative direction for the exterior design of all vehicles, ensuring alignment with the brand's future vision, innovation goals, and market demands.
o Shape iconic, forward-thinking designs that push the boundaries of automotive aesthetics while adhering to engineering and regulatory constraints.

Guide Design Development: o Oversee every stage of the exterior design process, from initial sketches and concept creation to 3D modelling and final prototypes.
o Work closely with the engineering, product development, and marketing teams to ensure design concepts are both manufacturable and marketable.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: o Partner with other departments such as engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and interior design to ensure the exterior design supports overall vehicle performance and brand identity.
o Translate customer and market insights into compelling exterior design features that enhance vehicle appeal.

Innovate with New Materials and Technologies: o Lead research and application of new materials, aerodynamics, and sustainable design techniques that can elevate the exterior design while improving functionality.
o Stay informed of industry trends, technological advancements, and competitor innovations to continuously refine design approaches.

Mentor and Develop the Team: o Lead, inspire, and mentor a talented team of designers, fostering creativity and guiding them to achieve high-performance designs.
o Provide feedback and direction to ensure the team's work aligns with brand standards and project timelines.

Ensure Brand Consistency: o Safeguard the brand's design language by ensuring exterior vehicle designs are cohesive, instantly recognizable, and reinforce the company's identity.
o Balance the desire for bold, innovative design with timeless elements that will appeal to future buyers.

Project Leadership: o Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints.
o Present exterior design concepts to leadership, clearly articulating the design rationale and strategic importance.
