Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative nurse(s) with a passion for sexual health to join our integrated team providing sexual health, HIV and contraception care to male and female clients.The post holder will be required to work daytime and evenings across sites in the east area.We are looking for someone who: Has at least sufficient experience working in sexual health or a related serviceIs highly motivated and is able to show initiativeHas good communication and interpersonal skillsHas experience and knowledge of safeguarding practice and proceduresHas a professional interest and desire to work in the speciality Job share will be considered.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job The post holder will be required to provide high quality sexual health and contraception service to all clients accessing the sexual health clinics, to influence the development of the nurse's role within the integrated sexual health service.
There may be a requirement to support and deliver the referral of medical termination service if requiredApplications may be submitted in Welsh.

Job description Job responsibilities You will be able to find a full Job description and Person Specification attached within the supporting documents or please click Apply now to view in Trac Person Specification QUALIFICATIONS Essential Registered Nurse Evidence of CPD Recognised Contraception/sexual heath qualification Desirable Degree or equivalent level of experience Teaching and assessing Qualification TOP/HIV Qualification Experience Essential Advanced level of knowledge of contraception/sexual health/ HIV specialist area.
Must be able to disseminate information in both written and oral format.
Experience of health advising and Partner notification.
Desirable Management and leadership experience Understanding of the role of specialist area within the current health environment and the impact of current government/regional policy developments.
Effective networking with colleagues and at local and national levels Skills Essential Advanced clinical practitioner Able to work independently and autonomously.
High level of self motivation with the ability to work as an independent practitioner Excellent communicator at all levels Competencies in use of PGD's to provide contraception and STI treatments.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Desirable Capable of promoting a visible, high profile approach Professional demeanour Acts as coach/mentor Personal Qualities Essential Awareness and knowledge of own professional accountability and autonomous practice.
Will accommodate future 7day working along with any potential future service extension Willing to work across all BCUHB sites.
