Mental Health Teaching Assistant Location: Bournemouth Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience) Start date: Immediate Contract type: Full Time/Part time GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a co-educational secondary school in Bournemouth.
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant , you will play a vital role in supporting students' well-being, helping them navigate challenges, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities of a Mental Health Teaching Assistant i nclude: Assisting teachers in creating a safe and supportive classroom environment.
Providing one-on-one and group support to students with mental health needs.
Working closely with students to develop coping strategies and resilience.
Monitoring and recording student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff.
Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create personalised support plans.
Participating in team meetings and contribute to the planning and review of mental health interventions.
Requirements for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant: A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or other relevant degrees.
Relevant experiences or training in Mental health, behavioural studies or Psychology.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of learners Understanding of mental health issues and the challenges students may face.
