* Overview of the role You will be assisting the Home Manager in the operation of a residential care home.
Your duties will include development, implementation and monitoring of individual care plans; assisting with staff supervision and administrative control; and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes of practice and legislation.
The position requires extensive knowledge, including supervisory experience from working in Adult Social Care.
You will need to have a professional approach with the ability to organise and prioritise, and a good knowledge of relevant codes of practice and legislation.
Key duties Identifying residents' emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and make appropriate decisions for action in consultation with the management team Coordinating and leading the staffing team, under the direction of the Home Manager Supporting the Home Manager by effectively conducting inductions and supervisions Conducting regular team meetings and delegating responsibilities amongst the team Supporting the Home Manager in maintaining appropriate levels of staffing by planning and managing a rota Supporting the Home Manager in managing the impact of absence Ensuring staff are up to date with training Actively assisting and supporting the Home Manager with investigations, disciplinaries and grievances Working in collaboration with other departments and homes within the Company Conducting risk assessments for both staff and residents Personal attributes Being patient, reliable, flexible, a team player and a good communicator are key characteristics of a successful Deputy Manager.

Where will you work?
Elliott House is a large, detached house in Fleet, Hampshire, five minutes' walk from the town centre.
The home provides residential support to nine men and women of varying ages with moderate to severe learning disabilities and associated complex needs.
There is plenty of communal space including a large shared lounge, a dining room, kitchen and a conservatory that leads out to a safe, secure garden with a summer house.
In the back garden a separate building has been adapted for sensory activities, arts and crafts, IT and computing, education and music, and also has a second lounge.
A fully-equipped kitchen also allows residents to develop their food preparation and cooking skills.
Elliot House is ideally situated, close to shops, pubs and local facilities, with Fleet railway station close by.
It's a lively home, with lots going on.
Residents enjoy bowling, swimming, going to the cinema and the theatre, visiting social clubs and going out for meals.
The home has its own transport for local travel and regular outings to the seaside and local farms and attractions.
