Purpose of the Role: The Strategic Contract Manager will oversee multi-million-pound contracts related to the Tools and Systems Project .
This role involves managing relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of technology and services that enhance forecasting capabilities, operational efficiency, and client offerings.
Key Responsibilities: Supplier Management : Lead relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with contracts and KPIs.
Contract Performance : Monitor performance, resolve disputes, and ensure value for money.
Risk Management : Identify and mitigate risks, escalating issues when needed.
Governance : Oversee governance processes, ensuring proper stakeholder engagement.
Contract Changes : Manage variations and changes, maintaining budget control.
Budget Oversight : Monitor contract spend and savings, reviewing supplier invoices.
Strategic Support : Work with internal teams to develop outcome-based requirements for contracts.
Required Skills & Experience: Strategic Thinking : Ability to integrate strategy into actionable plans.
Relationship & Negotiation Skills : Proven ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
Commercial Acumen : Strong understanding of business priorities and contract negotiation.
Communication : Excellent written and verbal skills for diverse stakeholders.
Operational Decision-Making : Ability to prioritize operational needs and stop non-value-adding activities.
Contract Management Knowledge : Familiarity with government contract processes or willingness to undertake training.
Desirable : Knowledge of meteorology applications and customer experience.
Experience in project or change management with external suppliers.
Additional Info: Hybrid Role : Requires regular travel to Exeter and occasional supplier visits.
