We have a great opportunity for a committed Senior Technician to join our Infrastructure Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.We are looking for a dependable, dedicated and flexible Senior Technician to join our UKAS accredited Construction Materials Testing Special Labs team. As a member of Special Labs, it is key that you are able to thrive in a team environment, as well as independently. The fundamental part of the role it to determine the physical properties of a wide range of materials including concrete, earthworks, aggregates to ensure compliance with specifications. All testing will be undertaken in line with a range of British, European and American standards so a good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures is required.The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):Sampling and testing of construction materials on site and in the laboratoryCollection of materials for laboratory testingCompletion of test sheets, including all calculationsLiaison with Laboratory Manager and Section Manager on work schedulesProduction of reports in line with QA systemsUndertake tasks in line with Company QHSE protocolsTo be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:Client focused deliveryPutting the client at the centre of all decisions that are madeSupporting colleagues in achieving for the clientTreating internal clients with the same respect as external clientsBeing respectfulRespecting the knowledge of colleagues and clientsListening to the views and opinions of othersAlways being polite and courteousContributing in a positive wayBeing progressiveLooking for ways to improve processes, systems, procedures, services and delivery in all rolesImproving skills, knowledge and experience wherever possible to the mutual benefit of the client, SOCOTEC UK and the individualQuestioning things which are not understood to improve individual performance and that of SOCOTEC UKTaking ownershipTaking responsibility for delivering clients requirementsDelivering tasks to the best of one’s ability at all timesTaking pride in delivering excellent servicePrevious experience of site/laboratory testing of concrete, soils, aggregates would be advantageousKnowledge of UKAS accredited laboratory practices would be beneficialAbout Materials Testing:Our Materials Testing team perform an extensive range of testing and compliance services across a wide range of construction projects including highways, rail, airfields, ports, harbours, power stations and sports stadia in addition to new build projects across industrial, commercial and residential properties.
