Process Safety Engineer

What You'll Do...As a Process Safety Engineer at Agratas, you’ll be a subject matter expert. You will support our engineering and design teams to efficiently integrate process safety into the factory and process design. The role will be based in the UK with potential for some international travel.Reporting Into The Process Safety Manager, You WillCoordinate and provide expert technical support in process safety areas e.g. ATEX/DSEAR risk assessment, hazardous area classification, safe handling of combustible dusts, control of electrostatic hazards.Support the execution of process risk assessments and hazard analysis exercises, which underpin the delivery of a safe design (including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA).Advise and steer on application of local rules, international standards, and best practices to promote inherently safe design.Who We Are...Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.The team you'll join...The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing, process safety and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help building large scale manufacturing lines from the ground up.What You'll Bring...Proven process safety experience in a high-hazard or COMAH regulated environment.Strong level of knowledge of process safety legislation, codes of practices and standards (e.g. DSEAR, pressure relief).Solid understanding and experience of hazard study methodologies.Understanding and experience of QRA techniques and analysis e.g. consequence modelling, OBRA.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, trouble-shooting, root cause analysis with a strong attention to detail.Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.What You'll Get...As a new company, our reward scheme is constantly evolving.
