Headquartered in the UK with overseas subsidiaries, the company has established a reputation for rapid delivery of specialised equipment in hazardous industrial environments.The company seeks a new Mechanical Engineer to support hardware development where you will be working alongside a very talented Lead Mechanical Engineer. This is a permanent position on-site in Bicester, Oxfordshire. Applicants will ideally be locally based or within 45 minutes commute.Engineering aptitude, high attention to detail and excellent written communication skills are essential for this role.ResponsibilitiesDesign product mechanical assemblies for applications that include machine vision, robotics and industrial wireless networksSupport testing and documentation for product regulatory approvals and certificationsDevelopment of automated production test hardwareProduce engineering documentation including assembly drawings, manufacturing instructions and test proceduresReview product designs for manufacturability and failure modesQualifications and experience levelsIdeally graduated with a 2.1 or higher in mechanical engineering or a related disciplineAt least three years of experience in a relevant design roleSkills – RequiredTangible and credible experience is required in the following:Mechanical part design with SOLIDWORKS (or similar 3D CAD tool)DFM, DFA and FMEA techniquesProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)Skills – DesirableExperience in one or more of the following would be beneficial:Design for harsh environments with appropriate certifications (e.g., IECEx, ATEX, DNV-GL)Injection moulding and fabrication processesTolerance stackingProduction considerations for small, medium and large scale productionRequirements capture and specificationsModelling (FEA, thermal)SOLIDWORKS PDM
