Everything we do is guided by our values and our commitment to -Provide great homesDeliver great serviceBe a great place to workBe a great business We are investing significantly in our homes, data and technology to ensure we continue to provide safe, high-quality and energy-efficient homes that meet the needs of residents now and in the future.The OpportunityWe are looking for a Director of Asset Compliance & Building Safety to provide technical and organisational leadership that ensures our homes remain safe and compliant.Reporting to the Executive Director of Asset Management and Development, you will lead and inspire the Asset Compliance and Building Safety Management Teams to achieve best-in-class standards of compliance and building safety. You will ensure Guinness meets its legislative and regulatory obligations, protects its reputation, and acts as a leader in safety and good practice across the sector.You will be an experienced and confident senior leader with a deep understanding of compliance and risk management in housing, construction or another highly regulated environment. You will bring a strong grasp of building safety legislation, data integrity and operational delivery, coupled with the leadership skills to engage teams and partners in achieving excellence for our residents.You will provide clear direction and promote accountability, building a culture of assurance, openness and continuous improvement. Above all, you will make sure our residents, colleagues and contractors are safe, and feel safe, instilling confidence in the quality and safety of the homes and other buildings we manage.Key responsibilities include: Oversee the development of all statutory compliance processes across Guinness’s property portfolio, including all tenures and asset types.Develop and oversee processes to demonstrate ongoing compliance with the latest building safety regulations and good practice.Provide clear and effective leadership and management of asset compliance and building safety teams.Ensure Guinness delivers a high-quality responsive repairs service for specialist building components (including M&E and heating).Develop and maintain robust systems for tracking and closing actions from inspections and audits.Oversee the procurement and contract management of consultants and contractors involved in compliance and M&E programmes.Work closely with Business Intelligence and Health & Safety teams to ensure management, sub-committees and the Board receive accurate and relevant performance and risk information.Take ownership of compliance, periodic testing, M&E and building safety data, ensuring systems are effective and data quality is high.Ensure proportionate and effective mechanisms are in place across Guinness to manage compliance and safety risks.Promote ownership of building safety and compliance responsibilities across the business, including operational teams.Act as a key member of the Asset Management Senior Management Team, the Guinness Leadership Team and the Building Safety Group.Engage with residents to strengthen understanding, transparency and trust in our safety processes.We are looking to appoint an experienced senior leader with the following attributes:Proven experience managing risks related to statutory compliance and the safety of housing or infrastructure.Strong knowledge of current building safety regulations and good practice, with the ability to anticipate and adapt to regulatory change.A methodical and forensic approach to compliance and data quality.Experience of managing asset compliance in the housing sector. Strong experience in managing M&E contracts and contractors, ensuring value for money and high standards.Senior leadership experience with accountability for large teams and significant budgets.Skilled at establishing and maintaining robust systems, processes and controls.Excellent communicator who can engage teams and influence at senior levels.Degree educated (or equivalent) with a relevant professional qualification.The Guinness Partnership is committed to being a diverse, inclusive and values-led organisation.
