About the roleThe Data & AI Product team is responsible for developing andmanaging data and AI/ML products that drive intelligent experiences, decisions,and actions across the Tesco ecosystem. We work in close partnership withbusiness and technology teams across Customer (including Insights, Marketingand Tesco Group departments), Finance, Commercial etc. to enable the seamlessbuild, consumption, integration and expansion of Data & AI capabilities. You will be responsible for• Define Product Vision & Strategy – Workingin close collaboration with the Lead PM, Evolve and drive the vision, strategy,and the long-term roadmap for a suite of products that will help deliver on ourGroup Personalisation Data vision & strategy.• Deliver Measurable Value – Champion avalue-first mindset. Set and track OKRs and KPIs across the product portfoliowith a strong focus on delivering tangible business value. • User-Centricity - Develop a deepunderstanding of user personas, customer journeys, and stakeholder needs toidentify pain points and opportunities. Use this insight to shape productstrategy, prioritise features, and ensure solutions deliver meaningful value.• Fail-fast - Champion a fail-fast mindset byencouraging rapid hypothesis based experimentation, learning from earlyfailures, and iterating quickly to deliver value. Promote a culture where teamsfeel empowered to test bold ideas, validate assumptions, and pivot whenneeded—ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.• Competitive Landscape Understanding - Engagewith and actively involved in market research, leveraging insights to shape thevision and strategic direction • Drive Product Execution -Translate strategyinto actionable plans by managing backlogs – from Opportunity backlog to IdeaBacklog to Product Backlog to Sprint backlog, and steer sprint/release planningwith cross-functional team / squad.• Collaborate & Influence Stakeholders -Partner with peers, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to steer productdirection and drive alignment.• Resolve Trade-offs & Live Issues - Makedecisive prioritisation calls, manage conflicting demands, and independentlycoordinate resolution of live product issues.You will needDeep expertise in customer data within retailCommercial drivers, business metrics, and performanceQuantitative & qualitative data from surveys, social media, analytics, and direct interactionsIdentity/profile data for personalizationSegmentation solutions for communication & insightDescriptive data (interests, lifestyle, preferences) to tailor productsProven success leading end‑to‑end product lifecycles for Data & AI/ML productsStrong product management skillsStructured methodologies, agile practices, and OKRsData‑driven prioritization and roadmap decisionsTools expertise (e.g., Aha) for roadmaps and stakeholder alignmentExtensive collaboration with data science, engineering, and analytics teamsTechnical fluencyProduct management best practices & UX/UI principlesEnterprise technology systems and large‑scale data platforms (scalability, availability, performance, security)System health metrics (uptime, SLOs, response time)Leadership & communication strengthsStakeholder management and decision‑makingBalancing technical debt with innovationExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsAbility to influence senior leadership and build strong relationshipsWhats in it for you?We’re all about the little helps.
