Senior Platform Engineer

Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer We're seeking an exceptional Senior Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team during a period of significant growth. This is a project-focused role where you'll design, build, and maintain the infrastructure supporting high-performance cryptocurrency trading operations and digital asset management.You'll focus on core platform engineering excellence (AWS, Kubernetes, automation) while collaborating with specialists in networking, security, and application development.You'll work on flagship products including our trading gateways, multi-region client dashboard , cryptocurrency transaction security infrastructure and exchange connectivity systems. This role offers the opportunity to shape technical direction, take ownership of critical projects from conception to production, and work with cutting-edge digital asset technology.In this role, you will or on several aspects ofInfrastructure Architecture & Development (60%)• Architect, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure across multi-account AWS environments• Design and implement EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) clusters for containerized workloads• Build infrastructure-as-code using Terraform/Terragrunt for all AWS resources• Design flagship platform products • Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure deployments• Implement GitOps principles using ArgoCD for Kubernetes application deployments• Create self-service deployment capabilities for developers and quantitative researchers• Build cryptocurrency-specific infrastructure (wallet integrations, blockchain connectivity)• Manage global infrastructure across multiple regionsObservability & Reliability (20%)• Implement comprehensive monitoring using Prometheus, and Grafana• Deploy and maintain OpenSearch for centralized logging with FluentBit agents• Optimize infrastructure for low-latency trading applications• Diagnose and resolve performance issues on Linux systems• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities• Create meaningful alerts balancing signal-to-noise ratioSecurity & Compliance (10%)• Implement security best practices across infrastructure and applications• Work with Security team through formal Jira workflows (treated as internal client)• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (FCA, VARA, ADGM)• Manage secrets and keys for cloud infrastructureCollaboration & Knowledge Sharing (10%)• Partner with Rust developers, quantitative researchers, and data engineers• Maintain detailed technical documentation• Create architecture diagrams and system design documents• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing• Act as subject matter expert for infrastructure design and best practicesRequired Qualifications:Technical Skills (Must-Have):• Expert-level AWS knowledge and deep understanding of AWS services, including VPC, Transit Gateway, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda• Advanced proficiency in Terraform and Terragrunt • In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and EKS cluster management• Strong proficiency in Ansible for server configuration management• Advanced Python scripting for automation and tooling• Expert-level Linux skills (RHEL/Rocky Linux/CentOS preferred)• Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and GitOps (ArgoCD)Critical Soft Skills:Architectural thinking: ability to design scalable, resilient systemsStakeholder management: communicate effectively with traders, developers, executivesAutonomous ownership: self-motivated, takes initiative, drives projects independentlyClear communication: articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersProject management: plan, prioritize, deliver on time with competing priorities Innovation mindset: creative problem-solving for novel challenges in crypto spaceDesired Qualifications:AWS Professional Certification (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer)Experience with cryptocurrency infrastructure (exchanges, wallets, blockchain nodes)Palo Alto firewall management experienceExperience with Fireblocks or similar MPC (multi-party computation) solutionsFinancial services infrastructure experience (trading, market data, exchange connectivity)Co-location and data center operations experienceLow-latency system design and optimizationRegulatory compliance implementation (FCA, MiFID II, GDPR)Service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets management platforms
