We’re looking for a Staff Game Engineer to help take it global. You’ll be the technical heartbeat of the Unity client - dive deep into Unity, architect clean and scalable systems, and obsess over performance. It’s a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll blend craft, architecture, and optimization, to help shape how we build at Fortis.What You’ll AchieveProfile and optimize Unity runtime performance across gameplay, rendering, and asset systems on mobile platformsArchitect scalable, data-oriented systems for ECS, animation, physics, and UI frameworksLead investigations into CPU, GPU, and memory bottlenecks, defining baselines and measurable performance targetsBuild and evolve profiling tools, telemetry systems, and diagnostic frameworks for mobile optimizationRefactor complex gameplay code for clarity, modularity, and performanceMentor engineers in Unity performance patterns, Burst/Job System usage, and mobile optimization practicesCollaborate with design, art, and backend teams to deliver new features that meet both creative and performance goalsContribute to the long-term Unity architecture and client scalability strategy across titlesWhat You’ll NeedDeep hands-on experience building and optimizing Unity (C#) game clients at scaleExpertise in mobile performance optimization, including CPU/GPU profiling, memory management, and asset streamingAdvanced proficiency in data-oriented design (ECS, DOTS) and multithreaded programmingStrong understanding of Unity rendering pipelines, Burst Compiler, and Job SystemProven ability to debug complex, cross-system issues in live mobile environmentsExperience shipping or maintaining mobile or cross-platform Unity titlesTrack record of mentoring engineers and improving development efficiencyExcellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-discipline technical decisionsLearn more about Twilight Towers and our approach to creating connected, player-driven worlds at Fortis Games.Why join usThere are many reasons to join us, but here are a few:We strongly believe we are changing how games studios operate and at the core of what we do is making great games that create a connected communityWe're not just about making Games Where You Belong.
