Software Engineer – C++ / Linux (Medical Devices)Location: Remote / Hybrid Employment Type: Full-TimeWe are looking for a highly skilled C++ Software Engineer to join our technically diverse, multidisciplinary team developing next-generation intra-operative medical devices. This is an opportunity to work across application software, embedded systems, cloud platform integrations, and device connectivity — all within a cutting-edge, regulated environment.About the RoleYou will contribute to the core application software that powers our current and future surgical devices. This includes developing new features, improving reliability, and ensuring our systems meet medical-grade performance and security standards. You’ll also work closely with hardware teams, testers, and cloud engineers to deliver high-quality, production-ready software.What You’ll DoDevelop enhancements and new features for our intra-operative device softwareTake ownership of maintainability, reliability, and long-term performance of the software stackBuild and improve device monitoring capabilities and cloud connectivityInvestigate, debug, and resolve issues reported by QA, field support, and usersParticipate in security, safety, and regulatory compliance processesWrite robust, secure-by-design code suitable for medical-grade systemsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams across application, embedded, and cloud engineeringMust-Have QualificationsBS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related disciplineStrong recent experience in modern C++ (C++17 or higher)Solid understanding of Unix/Linux environmentsExperience with inter-process communication frameworks (gRPC, DDS, Zenoh, etc.)Experience working with deployed hardware systems and remote device managementHands-on experience with unit testing and TDD (Google Test or similar frameworks)Ability to navigate complexity and think through system-wide impactsStrong problem-solving skills and willingness to ask for help when neededHigh level of craftsmanship and commitment to writing high-quality codeNice-to-Have SkillsExperience with GUI frameworks (Qt, React, etc.)Background in medical devices or other regulated industries (automotive, aerospace, finance)Familiarity with AWS or cloud-connected devicesUnderstanding of systems engineering and design principlesWorking knowledge of security best practices
