Job Title : Senior Application Developer – XML Expert Location : UK-based (Remote) Security Clearance : Active BPSS or previous SC Cleared About the Role : We are seeking a skilled Senior Application Developer – XML Expert to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional with strong experience in data integration, XML transformations, and enterprise-level application development. You will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable, efficient integration solutions using a range of data formats and technologies, including XML, JSON, and CSV. As an expert in XML tooling, XSLT, and data transformation, you will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy, performing complex transformations, and supporting integration and migration processes. Your expertise will also be key to enhancing the quality, security, and privacy of the data being handled. Key Responsibilities: Analyse and map source and target data structures (e.g., XML, JSON, CSV, EDI) to define clear and precise data mappings. Utilise XML tooling, XSLT, and DataStage Designer to perform advanced data transformations. Develop and maintain data mapping specifications, integration rules, and transformation logic. Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and domain experts to ensure semantic alignment and data consistency across systems. Ensure compliance with industry standards on quality, security, and privacy. Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality, efficient data integration solutions. Validate transformed data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure the highest standards of data quality. Document processes and maintain metadata to ensure traceability and governance. Share knowledge and contribute to best practices within the team. Key Skills & Experience: UK National with a minimum of 5 years’ residency in the UK (Active BPSS or Previous SC Clearance required) Familiarity with IBM Maximo Asset Management Software. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in application development and data integration roles, particularly in XML and related technologies. Proficiency in XML, XSLT, JSON, CSV, and EDI data formats. Strong experience with DataStage Designer or other data integration platforms like Talend, Informatica, SSIS, or Apache Nifi. Expertise in data mapping, data modelling (conceptual and logical), and data transformation. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Nice to Have: Experience with ETL tools or data integration platforms (e.g., Datastage, Talend, Informatica, Apache Nifi, Boomi). Proficiency in data mapping documentation (Excel-based, BPMN, UML).
